[08:18:04] Hi! Was wondering why https://wikiba.se doesn't work, but I see https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T155359 handles this so I left a comment there. I do have another question, though: is it feasible to refer to Wikidata items from an external Wikibase instance in the same way as we might do for an interwiki from an external project to Wikipedia? [08:18:07] The context is https://wikifur.com/ which has a convention map at https://en.wikifur.com/FurryConventionMap.html and EasyTimeline-based graphs at https://wikifur.com/Timeline_of_charity_donations and https://wikifur.com/Template:Timeline_of_conventions - currently all manually updated, which isn't ideal because we also have https://wikifur.com/List_of_conventions_by_attendance and [08:18:07] https://wikifur.com/Timeline_of_conventions_by_attendance etc. [08:18:49] Most of our data would be considered non-notable by Wikidata (this is why WikiFur exists :-) but the events themselves occur in notable placesl, and we'd want that information in relevant infoboxes, ideally linking to Wikipedia or Wikidata or similar for those locations. [08:20:03] I don't know if there's a way to express [[Wikidata:Q42]] or similar to say that this property is covered externally (and maybe the property itself would be external, too). [08:20:04] 10[1] 04https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Q42 [08:26:02] Though doing that, we might get into weird situations where the property was external but both data items were internal, e.g. the convention and the attendance of a convention for a particular year would be on WikiFur's side, but the concept "attendance of a convention" might not be. [08:27:19] I don't know what the status of being able to do that is... Lydia_WMDE: can you help at all? [08:28:50] I know there was work being done on it, since it's needed for commons images to be able to use data from wikidata, but I have no idea about it more generally [08:31:47] It wouldn't be the end of the world if we can't, but it would help to fit in with how we do things currently for articles. Sometimes we might have "stub" items with just their furry relevance (e.g. for https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Disney), but for RL locations that seems less likely.
