I would love to respect the limit, but there is no "Retry-After" in the headers. Can I find your rate limit somewhere to not spam you unnecessarily? [08:12:28] Hey, unsure if my previous message was received because I wasnt registered; hope someone can help me: I'm requesting data from wikidata and getting 429 Errors. I would like to respect your rate limits, unfortunately there is no retry-after in the response header. Can someone tell me these limits? [08:24:48] it looks like you are banned for a short amount of time. [08:26:05] You can read the general mediawiki wide API policy at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Etiquette [08:27:02] I think a good rule of thumb is to make requests serially and not in parallel [08:29:27] That is very helpful, thank you! [11:32:28] hey folks. i have a question about an optimal way of contributing. i maintain a project which locates points over openstreetmap data and sorts them by administrative districts. for example in saxony, germany. [11:34:26] for a quick overview of those districts, i would be beneficial to have all licenceplatecodes associated with the districts, but thats not part of openstreetmap, since its not relevant mapping data. however, most of the districts have wikidata ids and some wikidata entries have the licenceplate info which i imported into my project. but many are [11:34:27] incomplete or missing completly, but often in the wikipedia articles of the districts, the information is present. is it okay, if i just copy n paste licencecodes from wikipedia into wiki data? [12:53:32] easteregg: I see no issues improting that info from relevant wikipedia articles. [12:55:33] infact most of the times we do import info from articles, just make sure to add wikimedia import url as reference
