[15:39:16] https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:CentralNoticeBanners/edit/B13_0711_inart_inart is a novel location [21:37:50] hi mwalker I'm gonna head off soon [21:37:57] kk [21:38:02] I will have a banner for you tomorrow [21:38:09] cool, test in your morning? [21:38:12] yep [21:38:17] rad, night! [21:41:22] Heh. mwalker: Is that for Adyen? [21:41:44] ya [21:41:51] gateway form chooser was ugly [21:41:55] so... I'm making it less ugly [21:41:56] >.> [21:41:57] <.< [21:42:01] orly [21:42:07] How? [21:42:12] repeated code! [21:42:18] :/ [21:42:18] bad if statements! [21:42:24] ahhhh! [21:42:33] feel free to whack me upside the head when you see it [21:42:39] No, I meant: How are you making it less ugly? [21:42:52] oh; I collapsed a lot of functionality into value_appears_in [21:42:57] so the if statements are less gross [21:43:14] And: Bad "if" statements? [21:43:22] mostly because they were long [21:43:25] and had repeated conditions [21:43:33] which was then collapsed into value_appears_in [21:43:38] See, that bit makes me nervous. [21:43:46] "repeated conditions"? [21:44:07] oh oh -- what I meant by that is if you look at it on a per filter level [21:44:13] a lot of the logic was repeated [21:44:15] which was ugly! [21:44:17] and bad! [21:44:22] baaaaaaad! [21:44:26] >.> [21:44:26] <.< [21:44:40] Ah, but they all... worked. [21:44:43] sure! [21:44:50] but these will work [21:44:55] and be moar shiney [21:45:00] got it. [21:45:19] I'm just a little touchy, because of the way that thing launched. [21:45:25] yep [21:45:32] and then immediately flopped over on its side [21:45:38] No, it was fine. [21:45:46] The breakage was a myth! [21:45:56] Perpetuated by... people who weren't me! [21:46:01] hehe [21:46:30] It was basically me saying repeatedly that it was deployed and ready to go, and other people insisting that it was Bad and didn't work. [21:47:02] For... largely anecdotal reasons. [21:48:14] Oh, globdarnit, I have overbooked. [21:48:19] Jeff_Green: yt? [21:48:45] ya [21:49:20] Our maintenance day next week coincides with an all-day offsite I'm supposed to attend. Because I never learned to read. [21:49:36] ok. what day is better for you? [21:50:11] I was going to ask if you needed me to do your voodoo, but... probably. [21:50:19] hum. [21:50:29] I'm trying to take Wednesday off. [21:50:32] if we plan it well enough then I don't need you [21:51:01] basically as long as I know where all the knobs are to turn off writes I think I'm ok [21:51:14] ...eeeYeah, I should probably be there. [21:51:27] (based on the last time we tried to Maintenance Mode the payments cluster) [21:51:41] ok [21:52:05] well I can do weds, I'll just worry a bit about bleeding into jury duty [21:52:20] Can we put it off until the week after? Or would you rather get this over with? [21:52:29] Your Honor, is it ok if I just boot up my laptop here? okthxbye! [21:52:36] following week is ok [21:53:07] Okay. Do you like any day in particular? [21:53:12] Not Monday? [21:53:50] tuesday is good [21:53:57] thursday is fine too [21:54:16] weds is a little . . . chewy [21:54:39] I am a little worried that I have yet to be called for jury duty [21:54:59] it seems like it should have happened [21:55:33] Oh. The day my doctor went all stupid, I also got a jury duty summons. [21:55:39] I get one, I swear, every year. [21:57:01] Jeff_Green: I'm asking for Tuesday, July 23rd. [21:57:55] k [21:58:24] K4-713: I get called but never asked to actually serve [21:58:51] I haven't been called in California yet. Got one in Seattle, though. [21:58:52] this is the first time I've been called in MA though, I'm curious if it's still like it was 20 years ago [21:58:59] Learned how to effectively break in to cars. [21:59:05] ha [22:02:13] Seattle was terrible, though. They didn't have a phone system. [22:02:45] So you had to wait in this horrible waiting room all day long whether they were going to use you or not. [22:02:56] It was like the most jacked-up airport terminal evar. [22:03:09] did they at least have enough seats? [22:03:15] omg. last time I went here you had to sit in essentially a classroom at classroom-style desks until they called, and there was loud daytime TV on [22:03:19] I'm sure it's better now [22:03:44] mwalker: I think they had enough seats technically speaking, but some of them were sketchy to the point that only brave people would sit on them. [22:05:54] The weird part is, when you call in and they say "yes, we want you to come to the courthouse", apparently you have one hour to get there. [22:06:14] I mean. It's the county. Presumably they are aware of the traffic issues in the county. [22:06:45] But, yeah: Haven't had to deal with that part yet.
