I seem to be unable to delete an empty line at the end of a template, regardless of the editor I use. When used in conjunction with other templates, this leads to empty paragraphs. I remember this used to work a few years ago. Is this a bug or intended? [13:25:40] template in question: https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Format:Titlu_cursiv [13:26:01] Example of the problem: https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astilbe_chinensis [13:49:33] strainu: have you tried wrapping the whole template in [13:52:52] RhinosF1 yup, doesn't help because the line is *after* the [13:53:00] Also tried replacing it with `{{DISPLAYTITLE:''{{PAGENAME}}''}}` [13:53:31] To confirm the issue is not within the template text itself [18:09:46] ffs I was remembering to add qqq lang entries away from passing jenkins on PS1 :/ [18:14:41] Jenkins only exists to make your life harder [18:17:59] Reedy: much agreed [18:30:56] @Reedy @James_F am getting this cryptic error message after updating master: " MediaWiki 1.36 requires PHP 7.2.22 or higher (and not 7.4.0 - 7.4.8, 7.3.0 - 7.3.18); you are using PHP 7.4.2. " had to revert https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/core/+/664651 to get my mediawiki working again [18:31:22] Jdlrobson: You're running an insecure version of PHP and should fix it. [18:31:25] ohh ignore i misread :) [18:31:48] i completely skipped the hyphen when reading [18:31:57] i'm used to >= notation [18:32:04] so read it as 4 particular versions that had problems [18:32:07] We took down OSM wiki yesterday with this patch. Whoops. [18:32:08] ok looks like im updating php :) [18:32:13] :-) [18:32:32] sometimes i just need to think out loud in irc ;-) [18:36:22] we hit the same error in our Travis CI builds, apparently Travis doesn’t use the latest patch version by default if your .travis.yml just says “7.3” [18:38:33] James_F: when was the issue? CVE? [18:38:54] RhinosF1: Yes, a CVE for 7.3 and a data corruption issue in 7.4. [18:39:16] RhinosF1: We list the CVE or Task in the code for tracking purposes but don't display them to users. [18:40:03] James_F: I should read where 7.3.18 was put [18:40:14] And work out 27 is higher than 18 [18:40:19] :-) [18:40:45] The 7.3 one is CVE-2019-11048 apparently. [18:41:55] I do remember looking at one once [18:42:17] I look at a lot of things though [20:54:59] We might want to iterate on that error message a bit and get something "better"
