[00:19:02] something weird: my home smokeping instance on my internet connection (RCN, AS6079) observed higher latency and a small amount of packet loss to codfw and eqiad today from between 12:00Z-17:00Z or so today. didn't see any latency increase for ulsfo or for other destinations on the Internet, but did see a much smaller increase for esams and eqsin from 12:20Z-14:20Z or so. [00:19:41] codfw ping latency went from about 50ms to about 70ms; eqiad from about 22ms to about 36ms [00:19:54] https://smokeping.nucleosynth.space/smokeping/smokeping.cgi?target=WMF [00:47:59] wouldn't be surprised if some provider along the way changed some routing? [01:59:28] yeah, very likely, just haven't seen it so pronounced before. +50% latency is something :) [02:12:37] My VPS provider was doing some mucking about with IPv6 recently and somehow ping6 google.com went from ~60ms up to ~210ms :) [02:15:55] (granted that was a weird setup and they broke it) [02:16:45] Did you report it to them? :) [02:19:03] yes [02:19:29] ping over IPv6 was way up but also I couldn't seem to successfully make any connections over IPv6, outbound or inbound [02:22:01] (an hour later they said it was maintenance and to please try it again)
