[02:38:45] Would you be able to add a tracking page for the votes (similar to how the Wishlist Survey had such a thing)? (re @quidditywiki: However! You can help me make sure the Logo voting setup works! Now open at: [02:38:46] https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Abstract_Wikipedia/Wikifunctions_logo_concept/Vote [02:38:48] (a few people have already tested - it works well. I'm really just trying to entice you to vote 😉 )) [02:55:38] @mahir256 Unfortunately, not easily. They use a custom bot to do that, and there were higher priority things to work on than making our own version of that for the 2 votes (and inevitably: fixing all the related code, and then maintaining it all indefinitely for everyone else who wants to reuse it!). However, a few people have asked musikanimal for a more reusable version of the system before, and I encouraged him to ask [03:00:47] Wait, how got the Deutsche Bank logo in there? (re @quidditywiki: However! You can help me make sure the Logo voting setup works! [11:38:02] it's difficult to go to each proposal page :D [11:39:08] uhm, I thought it was a feature of the "Support" vote form (re @quidditywiki: @mahir256 Unfortunately, not easily. However, a few people have asked musikanimal for [13:39:02] a question about functions, I thought that an usecase would be making "calculators" which can be embedded in the wikipedia pages themselves for "complex" algorithms [13:42:27] example, two days ago i linked in a telegram chat to the "statute of limitations" page on it.wiki and I said well I didn't understand when it will lapse a particular event. I found a web page on a lawyer's website which actually implements the algorithm (date of crime and other conditions) and outputs the result, and i commented that it could be nice to embed it onto the wiki page itself [15:18:24] Yes, based on what you just said here, that sounds like something that could be done [15:18:49] Once the system is there [15:19:19] Similarly on the page for the pythagorean theorem, it would provide a form for it [16:59:59] Yeah @vrandecic @quidditywiki do you suspect that this similarity (like the Half-Life logo similarity for two other proposals) might be a problem? (re @markus_goellnitz: Wait, how got the Deutsche Bank logo in there?) [17:06:14] I linked the album to a friend yesterday and he said on Proposal 17 "oh wow the wonder woman logo" 😃 [17:20:48] We should add this in the description, good point (re @mahir256: Yeah @vrandecic @quidditywiki do you suspect that this similarity (like the Half-Life logo similarity for two other proposals) might be a problem?) [17:22:44] Done [17:23:45] Ha, indeed. Do folks think that should be noted as well, or is that not necessary? (re @iamsabas: I linked the album to a friend yesterday and he said on Proposal 17 "oh wow the wonder woman logo" 😃) [18:31:48] I think it wasn't necessary to note the hl2 similarity but I added it anyway 😄 if we look at full originality we couldn't find so much imho [20:43:53] @iamsabas the original "Support" vote gadget is highly-customized for that Community Wishlist, and we had to make a simplified version that would work elsewhere. The stats they have, are done by "User:Community Tech bot". Sadly, there isn't an easy fix.
