[07:52:58] hi [07:53:12] is this a place to talk about Vector? [07:53:31] eh sort of kind of not really [07:53:34] but say whatever :) [07:53:41] so where? [07:54:21] what about it? [07:54:28] there is a call for help with testing in sitenotice, so I am looking for a place where to talka about it or how to report about i [07:54:46] if you want to give feedback, here is good [07:55:05] if you want to request changes, then it gets somewhat fuzzy [07:57:44] btw why also non-wp projects should have it? [07:58:16] this channel is terribly named [07:58:26] vector was always designed for all of wikimedia [07:58:38] this channel should be called #wikimedia-usability [07:58:56] ironically they chose the highly unusable and nonstandard #wikipedia_usability [08:00:24] well, I dont think so that unity helps to other projects as MW was designed for wp and other projects should use extensions to it to work better [08:01:22] Prodego: well, I heard that usability initiative was formed especially for usability of wp, thats why is probably called like this:-) [08:01:50] wikipedia is the biggest and gets the most attention [08:02:08] but vector was rolled out on commons first [08:02:51] the things it impliments are designed to increase participation, which is useful for any wiki, not just wikipedia [08:03:34] btw, I am having problems with Vector edit toolbar. It is more difficult to use it in Czech language than monobook [08:04:57] You'll want to talk to RoanKattouw about that [08:06:12] eg. when I want to link a specific Heading on a page I havent got #. It is not native to the Czech keyboard. So I have to remember key shortcut or I have to switch between keyboards. In the case of Monobook users can have a button for that [08:06:54] So this is equal to monobook or worse [08:07:52] okay, I'll let him know - anything else? [08:07:55] Prodego: so is there a place on wiki to place these questions and recomendatiosn? [08:08:17] there are many places for feedback, but I usually just find the people directly [08:08:19] it is a whole lot easier [08:08:37] Prodego: ok, when I see him I will follow him [08:09:02] Juandev: you could also put it on http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/User_talk:Catrope [08:09:12] okay [08:09:13] thx [08:09:18] I'm sure if you put it there he'll point you to where it should go, and respond as wlel [08:09:21] as well* [08:10:42] I believe there is a bug on bugzilla [08:10:52] sorry, wrong channel with that last message [21:14:44] guillom: Your calendar entry is wrong, Mark doesn't get in until Friday 27 [21:22:44] RoanKattouw, {{sofixit}}? :) have to run to a meeting [21:25:23] OK [21:56:18] @op here? What about changing at least the topic to "Wikimedia Usability Initiative"? :-) [21:56:41] RoanKattouw? [21:56:45] Because that wasn't the name of the initiative back when it still existed [22:02:21] Yes, I know, but [[usability:]] {{SITENAME}} has been changed, I think that we can change also the topic of this channel. [22:02:40] Oh right [22:02:42] Yeah in that case [22:12:03] while having +if mode available, it's easy to have the systematic name as the live channel and keep this name as "redirect" [22:14:41] Can we worry about that in a week or so? Leaving for vacation in 8 hrs [22:15:15] Good vacation, RoanKattouw. :-) [22:16:00] Thansk
