(re @Adithya: Its been mentioned in Line 3, Logging in to wikipedia:it as SanniBot@BotPasswordName. So, I have doubt whether there is any issue with password.py file. @Sannita please confirm whether your password.py file contains the following line: [09:44:46] [telegram] ('SanniBot',BotPassword('somename','key_generated_through_Special:BotPassword'))) [09:45:22] [telegram] There is that line, but there is my password, anyway [09:59:57] [telegram] you can try to manually login in the browser as SanniBot and that password. Maybe it shows you a clue, or maybe it does some magic in the background... [10:06:24] [telegram] In my knowledge, as mentioned by me in my previous message, you need to generate a bot password. For this, through your browser, login to your bot account first. Then, visit https://it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speciale:BotPasswords. Then, enter a new name there and generate a password, which needs to be entered in the file named password.py. Only then you will be able to overcome this issue (I think so). (re @Sannita: I should ditc [10:07:01] [telegram] is this special for it-wiki? [10:07:27] [telegram] No. I have used the same thing in other wikis too [10:07:53] [telegram] I often type the password once in a long while in the terminal where I run pywikibot scripts... [10:09:56] [telegram] What I have mentioned is actually stated https://m.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Pywikibot/BotPasswords [10:51:10] [telegram] I changed the password with a random one, still the same thing [10:51:32] [telegram] can you login as your bot in the browser? [10:51:37] [telegram] I did [10:52:34] [telegram] you can, as workaround, give PAWS a try, if you need to run the script ... [10:52:42] [telegram] I'll try to [11:59:34] [telegram] So looks like normal password and bot passwords are mixed up here? [15:18:38] [telegram] Is it just me for whom WatchList items got grouped per page? I don't think I have changed my preferences, and I cannot find how to undo it, I only know of a similar configuration for the whole wiki [15:19:18] [telegram] the preference should be there : https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/af612036/file_1784.jpg [15:21:30] [telegram] thanks! [15:21:49] [telegram] I might have misclicked there then [16:03:08] [telegram] It seems I didn't, another person also reported that it switched for them :( [16:04:16] [telegram] On all wikis or only meta? (re @Thecladis: It seems I didn't, another person also reported that it switched for them :() [16:04:41] [telegram] ukwiki [16:05:48] [telegram] Hmm, not checked for me there. (re @Thecladis: ukwiki) [16:06:18] [telegram] Hmm, the box is not checked for me there. (re @Thecladis: ukwiki) [16:07:12] [telegram] interesting. but do you have expanded watchlist there? [16:08:44] [telegram] Is that the first option under Advanced in the watchlist tab of the preferences? (re @Thecladis: interesting. but do you have expanded watchlist there?) [16:09:34] [telegram] yup : https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/0a507816/image_2020_12_06_18_09_32.png [16:09:43] [telegram] this one [16:10:40] [telegram] That one was not checked, no. Now I activated it, and the checkbox in the watchlist is not checked. So not affecting me retroactively at least (re @Thecladis: ) [16:11:03] [telegram] interesting [16:12:11] [telegram] oh, it seems that the other person actually has that checkbox disabled [16:12:33] [telegram] so for them the checkbox on the right only means that there is a huge indent [20:45:27] [telegram] Hello [20:45:46] [telegram] I want to make an extension work [20:48:25] Ok, and? :) [20:58:05] [telegram] Could you be more specific? 🙂 (re @Richparker01: I want to make an extension work)
