[00:27:21] Hello! I am very new to mediawiki and I am currently trying to update an old Mediawiki 1.30. I have a local setup with PHP7.1 where I imported the database in hope I could upgrade it locally but I cannot make it run properly. [00:27:44] I see a database error: Error: 1146 Table 'my_db.l10n_cache' doesn't exist (localhost) [00:28:14] I am at loss about what's going on so any idea would be welcomed [00:29:34] I also had to change the language to the default "en" instead of "fr" in the config as it gave me an error 500 [00:30:05] php maintenance/update.php [00:30:08] Is this docker? [00:31:05] It's not a docker, it's a WSL [00:32:46] Well hopefully that will resolve it. I believe that table was added at or after version 1.16 [00:33:18] Make sure your db user has access to create tables. [00:33:41] php maintenance/update.php ran without any error but nothing changed [00:33:46] Perhaps also delete any old cache tables: /path/to/wiki/cache/l10n_cache-*.cdb [00:34:34] I have all access to my user with: GRANT ALL ON mydb.* TO myuser@localhost WITH GRANT OPTION; [00:34:44] you can manually create the table using the schema from the MediaWiki manual but running the updater is the preferred and safest method. [00:35:06] what version were you upgrading from? [00:35:13] the cache directory is empty [00:35:37] I believe it's 1.30 as there is a RELEASE-NOTES-1.30 file in the root directory [00:36:27] any idea what the schema would be missing after importing the database from a functioning instance? [00:36:33] why* [00:42:00] Nope. I am fairly new to this. Hang out a while. I am sure someone with more experience will have better advice. [00:44:40] Alright, thank you [01:21:26] Oh, I ran the update.php a second time and it restored things in the db. I can now access an empty wiki and without css. [01:40:12] I managed to reimport the database properly! [01:40:47] but all my links are pointing to http://index.php, I am guessing something is wrong in the conf file [01:41:17] $wgServer = "http://localhost"; is wrong? [02:06:31] I fixed it by making apache point to the parent directory and mediawiki to a /wiki directory [03:22:39] Glad to hear you got it working anarchez [03:24:03] Thanks! It's a relief, I was just badly importing the database. I feel a bit silly but at least I can upgrade everything now. :D
