[00:08:17] Sometimes only one appears, sometimes two. [00:18:27] It's like gambling if it'll double or not /j [00:30:12] it's an issue only here for some reason [00:30:38] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?go=Go&search=User:Skye [00:30:50] sheesh thanks [00:31:57] i cant tell if this is a konversation feature or not [00:32:23] (it is) [00:32:54] [[User:Skye]] [00:32:54] https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/User:Skye [00:33:18] where is wikibot when you need her [01:30:11] When it's put like that the LUA part makes a lot of sense. [01:59:50] Aloha amigos. [01:59:53] It is I. [01:59:57] The Weirdo. [02:34:47] no, I don't think so [02:34:53] not weird enough [02:35:07] you have to be funkier [02:35:17] https://tenor.com/view/spinning-fish-gif-27096550 [02:37:54] https://tenor.com/view/concert-crowd-dino-dinosaur-dinosaur-concert-gif-7302459712020757639 [02:37:58] I got you bro. [02:39:09] raidarr would you consider this funky enough [02:54:58] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/615786602454581249/1458655192898863237/image0.gif?ex=69606e02&is=695f1c82&hm=287b1ad59886f23de9d8bee50996201ab2211913375fbc54dcf62181141238ff& [03:13:39] Discord is so done. The enshittification will get worse. πŸ’€ [03:14:03] [1/2] The DRUID infoboxes are just slight change from traditional infoboxes. [03:14:03] [2/2] Their RANGER navboxes are game changing compare to Fandoom or Wikipedia one. [03:14:56] Fandoom specifically hates navboxes to the point it's abandoned cuz it screw their ads [03:15:27] the ranger one works on phones [03:32:49] Ooooh, I need to check that out if it's platform agnostic [03:51:09] https://support.wiki.gg/wiki/RANGER_navboxes/installation [03:56:30] I suppose the main feature is not squashing everything together under mobile? It seems to have a very polished implementation which looks really nice but I've seen the same thing done on at least 3 different wikis (with various degrees of success). [03:59:09] It still squash everything on mobile but it's way more readable [04:01:09] Moegirlpedia did the same thing a few years ago. Probably a case of independent discoveries. https://discord.com/channels/407504499280707585/407537962553966603/1414025365483028571 [04:01:10] Fandoom one as far as I remember, it usually ran out from mobile screen [04:02:08] Yes, the ranger navbox works like that on mobile [04:06:00] [1/16] I think the Wikipedia template can be converted to the collapsible form in a few lines of CSS. [04:06:00] [2/16] ```css [04:06:01] [3/16] @media(max-width: 600px) { [04:06:01] [4/16] .navbox th.navbox-group { [04:06:01] [5/16] display: block; [04:06:01] [6/16] min-width: 100%; [04:06:02] [7/16] max-width: 100%; [04:06:02] [8/16] text-align: center; [04:06:02] [9/16] box-sizing: border-box [04:06:03] [10/16] } [04:06:03] [11/16] td.navbox-list { [04:06:04] [12/16] display: flex [04:06:04] [13/16] } [04:06:05] [14/16] } [04:06:05] [15/16] ``` [04:06:06] [16/16] I deployed it Blue Archive Wiki a while back but it is not tested well since we only have a single level of nesting. [04:06:37] [1/2] Looks like this. I suppose it can look a lot better with more tweaking but I didn't bother to go further. [04:06:38] [2/2] https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/615786602454581249/1458673224165490708/image.png?ex=69607ecd&is=695f2d4d&hm=f8af8892486f2eade94f8a7ef7bb316d0b0ca895b4a9c35e1a357e5ddf287172& [04:28:21] I've mostly installed RANGER navboxes on Equestripedia, yeah. [04:28:55] The styling is incomplete. Some people on the Wiki.gg sent me good advice but I was too busy these last few days to check. [05:11:32] Also there's a really easy mechanism to take data from Lua tables and displaying in the template using a hook [05:12:08] Most navbox implementations straight up hide the entire thing on mobile, this one is responsive [05:12:56] I also think portable info box is an absolutely horrid syntax so having any standard at all that isn't that is an improvement [05:13:29] Uh oh, now I have a now thing to investigate 😁 [05:13:49] Module:infobox/Hooks on support wiki [05:14:02] Possibly lowercase h but idts [05:14:27] Best of bad options isn't good, so fully with pushing a better normal [05:14:53] Thanks as always for jumping in with your insights [05:15:17] Happy to talk about druid any time haha [05:16:39] mobilefrontend HATES anything with the class "navbox" [05:16:54] as in, it just straight up does not display anything with that class [05:18:22] Yeah... [05:20:54] Mobile frontend is a unique party a lot have skins have moved away from. Hmmmm..... [05:21:50] i would be so happy if they exploded that extension and made skins more mobile-friendly [05:22:16] like why the heck is citizen the only skin that natively does both mobile and desktop [05:22:33] Don’t let stackd here you say that [05:22:45] /lh [05:23:28] yeah, well, as much as I love hating on citizen, it has some damn good sides that nothing else can compete with [05:23:33] except performance [05:23:48] waiter waiter, more frosted glass please [05:24:44] it is the best if you dont want deal with much CSS renovations and still have your wiki look respectale enough in the 2020s [05:25:21] like we are in Q2 of the 21st century, oh my godddd [05:37:50] Don't let the 22nd century hear you say that [05:49:53] Ah that's a very nice feature especially for wikis using Lua tables/json pages to store data. [05:51:19] I think it's mostly a MobileFrontend issue. Another example of MWF pushing fixes pertaining to WMF wikis in an extension which affects all downstream wikis. I saw a wiki changing the class name for their navbox before dropping MobileFrontend entirely. [05:53:30] the F in MF stands for fuckedup [06:32:34] It is and it isn't, the reason that mobile frontend does it is that navboxes look like shit on mobile, ranger tries to fix that [07:18:55] Hiding navboxes is a bad idea though. Not all divs with that class name needs to be removed for mobile. They could've popped some more CSS on styles.css which easily fixes most issues pertaining to stock Wikipedia navboxes but never did. [08:21:54] Long time no see guyzzzz [10:39:21] [1/2] Definitely agree navboxes should show, but I don't think an extension should be responsible for fixing Wikipedia CSS [10:39:21] [2/2] Which maybe is the entire problem in the first place haha [11:19:39] I just carry a tablet and a phone. [11:19:44] 😎 [11:19:48] Tablet for wiki works. [11:19:51] Phone for phoning. [11:30:23] Well does anybody know about the wiki log not being checked [11:30:56] Bro I submitted a request it has been 1 day and the oldest one is 3 days old 😭 [11:30:58] 😭 [11:31:29] Bro does anyone check the in review requests 😭 [11:36:24] everyone here is a volunteer [11:36:30] and we have to juggle a bunch of stuff [11:36:34] be patient [11:36:38] patience is key [11:36:41] Ok [11:37:02] 😰 [11:37:15] Wdym by that [11:37:24] like [11:37:40] there’s a bunch of things we have to do all at once to keep this place running [11:39:42] @groupnebula563_0765 how can we edit in the testwik8 [11:39:56] As a normal editor [11:42:08] uh [11:42:14] do you have a Miraheze account [11:43:45] Yes [11:43:58] But it is 1 day old [11:44:24] My discord nickname for this server is my alias for my fandom and miraheze accounts [11:45:06] ok [11:45:24] you should be able to sign in and edit there, if not then make a Phorge issue [11:49:14] I don't find an edit button lol [11:50:04] well [11:50:10] what page are you trying to edit [11:52:59] Yeah definitely. Trying to fix problematic CSS on one wiki by pushing code into an extension is a very weird idea. It would've made more sense if no wiki other than ones hosted by the WMF exists I guess. [11:53:22] I want to create a new one [21:53:35] Hey what's everyone up to? [21:55:08] I wish I could sing as well as on Last Night of the Proms [22:00:38] Do you sing often? [22:00:51] Kinda but not well [22:22:34] Honestly same. I dont sing as much as I used t [22:22:38] to* [22:32:29] Sometimes I feel so bored that I would want to CSS theme a wiki for the hell of it [23:57:32] https://web.archive.org/web/20150107042244/https://freddy-fazbears-pizza.wikia.com/wiki/Five_Nights_at_Freddy's_Wiki# [23:57:39] i like this
