[04:41:52] i've been inconsistently getting errors. not sure how other people are doing [04:46:50] there is a known outage being investigated [04:47:55] cool, thanks [04:49:47] wikimediastatus.net still says "All System Operational" even though you can see the issue on the graph, that's why I got here... glad to know it's already being investigated. Hope y'all can iron it out! [06:21:59] kamila_: somehow this https://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?diff=4807428&oldid=4807341 worked, i will await further information for a short bit and then do phab ticket for it [14:23:02] "wikimediastatus.net still says "All System Operational" even though you can see the issue on the graph" [14:23:16] that's exactly why we put those graphs on there 😅 [19:12:03] Hello! Can someone spare 1 minute to check if this request for a license change on wikinews is made correct or if I need to fix something? https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T381421 [19:15:35] MGA73: I guess the easiest way forward would be to upload "whatever you guess is correct" on Gerrit and get the review there. That "Wikimedia-Site-requests" tag is kind of outdated and doesn't work like that anymore if that is just a MediaWiki config change. It's all in code review itself and then using the deployment calendar to get it pushed. [19:16:28] if you know how to do that and use "Bug:T381421" in the commit message it will automatically be added to the ticket, too. [19:16:28] T381421: Change default license on en.wikinews and pl.wikinews to cc-by-4.0 on December 16, 2024 - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T381421 [19:19:10] mutante thank you. I tried to follow https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requesting_wiki_configuration_changes :-) [19:21:25] MGA73: I understand, yea, I won't blame you at all. It's reasonable to follow docs. Have you ever made a patch in code review? [19:22:34] maybe you can just put a "diff" on the ticket manually? [19:22:50] then someone could translate it to the actual code change [19:23:33] also, I'm not a lawyer or involved in that community discussion but can you just change the license retroactively for files uploaded in the past? [19:23:47] or is it only for new files [19:29:34] No, I never made a pach before... I started reading on how to do so... [19:30:57] A similar change was made for ar.wikinews recently so guess the change should be like that https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T372730 [19:31:52] MGA73: you might like this: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Gerrit_patch_uploader https://gerrit-patch-uploader.toolforge.org/ [19:31:59] that makes it easier to create such a patch [19:32:15] without having to learn git, create new accounts and all that [19:32:32] so if you want you could try to use that and copy the other patch [19:32:46] or you could just comment on the ticket like what you just told me [19:58:51] Thank you. I made a comment for now. [20:24:11] sounds good
