[19:35:52] if anyone from the Trust & Safety Product team is in this channel -- i've discovered odd behaviour when visiting GlobalContributions for a specific registered user, where - consistently - the only contributions that are returned are the ones that the account has made on testwiki. i don't know whether it's worth filing a bug in phabricator about this, though, as it might just be a side effect of the known issues relating to API er [19:36:38] the account in question which this occurs for me with is https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:GlobalContributions/Leaderbot [20:25:19] A_smart_kitten: how about you just copy/paste that into phab. for it to seem here requires people to be here (which I kind of doubt) and additionally the right timezone. in other words, if it's worth an answer it's worth reporting it [20:25:35] s/seem/be seen [20:29:03] mutante: yeah, that's a good point, ty. i might copy it into the task about the API errors, but i'm always wary of doing something like that in case it turns out to be a completely different thing & i end up unintentionally cluttering up the task history. on the other hand, i guess i worried that raising a new task about it might be overkill/unnecessary/cause a potential waste of time, given that it could be being caused by an al [20:29:41] raising it in an IRC channel seemed like a potentially good middle-ground earlier, but it's a good point regarding timezones & people being here [20:33:39] (side note, is the end of my previous message not showing for anyone? my irc client appears to have sent it, but my messages seem truncated on the wm-bot channel logs) [20:34:19] A_smart_kitten: you could also look at it this way: raising it on IRC requires realtime interaction and likelihood is higher that both the intended audience misses it and a higher number of other people feel they should react to it and start to interact right now, because they feel the user should not be ignored. Now they can either start to use other communication channels or we are back to [20:34:25] reporting it in the ticket system. So basically I would argue that it's almost the other way around. realtime media has the higher cost. [20:35:28] A_smart_kitten: for me I see your whole message, I think, the client just split it into multiple lines automatically [20:36:36] mutante: you make good points. thank you :) [20:36:54] thanks as well for reporting:) [20:38:55] Is there a reason verification votes aren't copied when just the commit message is changed, but code review votes are? [20:39:14] whoops wrong IRC channel lol [20:44:08] mutante: although sometimes, b̵u̵g̵z̵i̵l̵l̵a̵ phabricator, where tasks go to rot >.> [20:46:00] p858snake|cloud: I have seen tasks resolved 10 years later, but I have never seen a reaction to an IRC chat from .. 24 hours ago [20:51:57] (to close the loop in IRC about the odd behaviour i reported above, i've now filed it in phab as T387923) [20:51:59] T387923: Visiting Special:GlobalContributions for Leaderbot consistently only displays contributions which that account made on testwiki - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T387923 [20:55:34] cool! thx
