[00:37:39] OK wow [00:43:34] My son asked why is Super Mario 64 has this number in the name, so I explained him binary vs decimal numbers, and why is number 64 is often significant in computers. [00:43:59] And I tried to convert decimal to binary on my phone's calculator app. [00:44:28] And I couldn't find such a function there! [00:44:51] So I used Z13779 on Wikifunctions [00:45:13] It was the first time I actually used Wikifunctions to do a real-life thing. [02:58:04] Hmm [02:59:56] Somewhat suboptimal. [03:00:38] Is there really nothing better than using wikifunctions.org search engine to search for the language code? [03:01:01] I mean something more direct, where I type the code and find the language immediately? [03:04:22] https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/188d1628/file_64655.jpg [03:04:29] Sidenote: [03:05:25] Oh, I was about to ask why are the names of Hausa and Nupe appear in the Latin alphabet, but German appears in the Hebrew alphabet, but I know the technical answer to that. [03:06:34] Although I don't know the functional answer for that. Hausa has a Hebrew name in CLDR, so why not use it? [03:08:06] But back to that task... [03:09:35] Where is that inputbox? (re @Winston_Sung: Probably in the edit label language inputbox.) [03:18:53] https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/b48e96d7/file_64656.jpg [03:19:45] Just click on "Languages" in any ZObject page. [03:22:42] OK, I guess it works. [03:22:54] I have a lot more to say about it, but I won't. [03:23:35] Thanks @Winston_Sung [03:24:18] I would wish there's something like Crowdin's project language list though. [03:24:28] https://tools-static.wmflabs.org/bridgebot/51ed2715/file_64657.webp [04:02:00] Do you have a link? I'm curious to see it. I have very little experience with Crowdin, but it was mostly positive. (re @Winston_Sung: I would wish there's something like Crowdin's project language list though.) [04:02:24] Let me take the Minecraft project on Crowdin as an example: [04:02:26] https://crowdin.com/project/minecraft (re @amire80: Do you have a link? I'm curious to see it. I have very little experience with Crowdin, but it was mostly positive.) [04:02:33] (Just ignore the flags as using flags to represent languages is not that a good idea.) [19:54:08] I tried a few months ago extracting out of Wikidata the Labels for languages per Language as I have seen that many Z-Objects about Languages in Wikifunctions have a quite lower number of Labels than what exists in Wikidata. I have not worked on it since then as it was difficult for me to convert the Wikidata-Items I exported as JSON-File into a clear readable list [19:54:08] without escaped [19:54:09] characters. So maybe the language names appears more often in the common way of the language the person is speaking or using as Wikfunctions interface language if there are Titles for Languages in more languages available. [20:05:48] Just a kind reminder about my application. (re @Csisc1994: What should I do after putting my request at https://www.wikifunctions.org/wiki/Wikifunctions:Requests_for_user_groups#Functione...) [20:07:57] I am seriously thinking of retiring from Wikidata after: [20:07:58] 1. Polishing biomedical information in Wikidata. [20:08:00] 2. Create a robust Arabic and African Wikidata Community. [20:08:01] 3. Adding Lexemes in Tunisian. [20:08:03] This will allow me to provide more time for Wikifunctions. [20:14:43] Done
