[05:48:12] Seems a patch for my request is on the way [10:47:59] Cory would be able to point you to more info. I'll let him know of your interest. (re @olivneh: Hello, old and new friends! Where could I read more about the backend rewrite that the most recent status update introduces? I f...) [10:50:09] When would it be ready (re @cvictorovich: Seems a patch for my request is on the way) [10:57:36] You can follow it here: https://gitlab.wikimedia.org/repos/abstract-wiki/wikifunctions/function-orchestrator/-/merge_requests/249 -- assuming it gets merged in time, it might roll out this week, or else the next. Deploys of the backend are usually on Wednesdays. [10:58:20] Merge blocked... [11:05:42] Lastly how can I know if my GitLab account is "locked" [11:06:48] What @mahir256 said. [11:06:48] The feature has an external dependency, but we will keep folks informed. (re @amire80: I have a vague recollection that a detailed plan about the integration of Wikifunctions with the Dagbani Wikipedia was supposed ...) [11:06:50] I would like to ask that people shouldn't treat Dagbani Wikipedia as a playground. [11:15:09] How can I invoke a function on Wikipedia? I know that currently only Dagbani Wikipedia has support for this [11:15:29] I visited but found nothing special [11:17:17] No Wikipedia has yet support for this. Dagbani does not yet fave support for invoking functions. Dagbani will be the first Wikipedia where we switch that on, but not until next year. [11:17:39] Now I understand. Thanks. [12:36:01] Once it rolls out, would it be okay to use our personal Dagbani userpage as a playground? Or would that be insensitive/distracting/etc? (re @vrandecic: I would like to ask that people shouldn't treat Dagbani Wikipedia as a playground.) [13:09:28] Hi, @olivneh! That Phabricator task is the center of the discussion so far, yes. There's no other public discussion so far. At the moment, the focus is on building out the WASM interface; I hope to start pushing code for that to the evaluator repo (https://gitlab.wikimedia.org/repos/abstract-wiki/wikifunctions/function-evaluator) this week, at which point the code will form the basis of public discussion. Otherwise, I'm [13:09:28] happy to talk about it! [15:46:58] Perhaps it would be possible to enable Wikifunctions support on test.wikipedia at a later stage to allow people to test things. (re @vrandecic: I think that wouldn't be fair towards the Dagbani community, as it may skew their metrics and processes from organic usage. But ...) [17:22:48] Ameisenigel> We're looking at test2.wikipedia.org rather than test.wikipedia.org, as it's a bit disruptive, but yes, that's the plan. [17:27:24] Great! [17:27:49] (Switching it on first means moving the wiki to Parsoid-rendering, which is the disruptive part.) [18:01:17] Friendly reminder that the Corner is in 30 minutes. See you there! (re @Sannita: Hi all! Our next Volunteers' Corner will be held on Monday, November 4, at 18:30 UTC. [18:01:18] If you have questions or ideas to discuss...)
