From reading the manual the default is $wgScriptPath/skins for $wgStylePath. Does the installer set $wgScriptPath when the wiki is setup? [04:37:38] I am trying to determine if it is a actual bug, or that it has not just been configured correctly by the user. [04:38:58] yes [04:40:03] Thanks. from what ive looked at so far, it appears to be a configuration issue where they have changed the path or not set it. [04:41:07] they probably changed $wgScriptPath, and as the documentation says, if you change that, you'll probably have to change the others [04:41:19] does look like that [04:41:25] Ill write up a response to the bug [04:41:28] about it [04:44:25] 03(mod) Change SITENAME and add namespace alias on Ukrainian Wikiquote - 10https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18781 summary (10irmvol) [04:47:15] 03(mod) Add 'autoeditor' group and remove 'autopromote' on Russian Wikiquote - 10https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18594 summary (10irmvol) [04:48:19] 03(mod) Add 'autoeditor' group and remove 'autopromote' on Ukrainian Wiktionary - 10https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18590 summary (10irmvol) [04:53:34] 14(INVALID) $wgStylePath does not default to "/wiki/skins/ " - 10https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18650 +comment (10karun) [04:55:24] Hello everyone! I'd like to disable the namespace #1 (the talk page of the main space)... Is there any way ? Thanks for your help. [04:57:31] Antaya: you can't really disable it, but you can protect it: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgNamespaceProtection and you can hide it with CSS: body.ns-0 #ca-talk {display:none;} [04:59:22] (for the monobook) [04:59:28] Splarka: where is body.ns-0 located ? [04:59:35] i'd like to call the parser on some wikitext so that i can access the templates, their names, their field names and field values. do you know of an example extension that does something like this, or have an api pointer? [05:00:29] Antaya: contains a ns-# class, for main namespace that is 0, and #ca-talk in main namespace is the link to [discussion] (ns-1) [05:00:50] so add that to MediaWiki:Common.css (which will work in monobook and half the other skins) [05:02:47] prefrontal: http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/phase3/includes/api/ApiParse.php is the API part that does that (if you mean that kind of api pointer) [05:04:01] Splarka: sorry to disturn you, but I'm a little dummy with those kind of things. What would be the syntax to add in Common.css [05:04:29] body.ns-0 #ca-talk {display:none;} [05:05:06] Splarka: i'm not sure ApiParse.php can help me. is there such a thing as a "DOM" for the wikitext? a parser object that I can navigate and access templates and their fields ? [05:05:48] dunno, php is the devil's language [05:05:56] Great. It's working find also with myskin... Thanks a lot! [10:40:19] or is it generally a problem of UTF-8, that it interprets RoR / Ror case-insensitively and reports them as duplicates, therefore violating the UNIQUE attribute of name_title [10:40:50] the problem is the collation of the text fields like page_title [10:41:05] here's what it should be: [10:41:06] page_title varchar(255) binary NOT NULL, [10:41:15] the binary keyword tells it to use a binary collation [10:41:48] your table is using a case-insensitive collation so the unique index flags duplicates which are the same except for case [10:42:18] the simplest solution would be to fix the script so that it creates the right sort of schema, and then reimport [10:44:50] ok, thanks a lot, I'll try that [10:45:27] bbl [11:29:22] hello, is it possible to convert a kwiki-database to a mediawiki-database? [18:16:46] Well a couple of months (maybe years) ago, it used to default to a pattern, which when clicked, brought you to the uplaod file screen, with the filename in question as the default filename. Would it be possible to go back to that [18:16:56] ahh, hmm [18:20:07] heh, spla [18:20:21] d'oh [18:20:28] wat [18:20:53] your name [18:21:03] its in every other js file I edit [18:21:37] then you're hanging out with the wrong crowds, heh [18:21:41] I write the bad js! [18:22:46] js/css or whatnot [18:23:12] I believe the forumheader thing is all over wikia [18:23:46] *Splarka hides [18:23:58] Splarka is an evil man. [18:24:15] http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Common.js see, there it is [18:24:21] I object to that label! [18:25:16] hmm [18:26:19] Deltaneos, still searching [18:26:43] Thank you. [18:27:03] I've gone back 3 years and it still looks like it just spits out the name [18:28:45] You don't remember it beign anything different yourself? [18:28:48] *being [18:29:03] hmmm, vaguely, hmmm [18:29:08] actually... [18:29:46] it looks like r21411 might be your culprit [18:30:14] hmmm, or not [18:31:18] okay, I think it is http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki?view=rev&revision=15164 [18:31:49] this is where it stopped only checking for the link to be NS_IMAGE and actually checking if the image was on the bad image list or wasn't able to generate a thumbnail [18:32:22] so, I think, for missing images this might be where it would print out the text rather than an upload link [18:32:29] except I hate php, so maybe get a second opinion [18:34:42] this does seem to be the case though [18:34:46] I think that's too far back. [18:34:57] We started using in September 2007. [18:35:01] because before that it would do makeKnownLinkObj() on missing images, as it still does for the bad image list [18:35:11] Deltaneos: on Wikia? [18:35:15] or, where? [18:35:19] yugioh.wikia [18:35:37] right, Wikia didn't upgrade immediately back then [18:36:09] We had it before then, we just didn't use it. [18:36:15] 15164 was pre-1.7, and I remember wikia upgrading from 1.5 to 1.7 very slowly [18:36:28] so very likely you saw it in 1.5 [18:36:38] 2 years ago [18:37:08] *Splarka checks [18:37:33] hmm [18:37:42] or maybe not [18:37:52] looks like wikia upgraded to 1.9 in March 2007, heh [18:38:00] I think you're hallucinating then, heh [18:38:22] however, it could be something else that changed in the gallery code of course [18:40:24] Buenas [18:40:46] Talk spanish here? [18:41:49] Sí! [18:42:00] Gracias a dios :P:P:P [18:42:39] Tengo una consulta...no se si alguien puede ayudarme... [18:45:57] alguien? [18:47:46] Pregunta. [19:26:36] 03(mod) Wikimedia badge alt text should match image text - 10https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17101 +shell; +comment (10mrzmanwiki) [19:26:54] Justic: Just explain your problem in the channel, and maybe someone will help you [19:26:56] okay, well, anyway, I wrote a mediawiki gadget once that converts invisible unicode into HTML entities on edit, and converts them back on save: http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-EvilUnicodeConverter.js [19:27:04] when will ever MW2.0 come out? :P [19:27:21] on fr:, mediawiki add automaticaly nbsp before some caracters (;:?!) but they aren't in the source (and are gone when copied from the page or source). So typography is wrong. [19:27:59] A2`: you could possibly adopt that script to convert them to   in the source, and then (optionally) convert them back to literal nbsp on save, or even leave them as nbsp [19:28:00] Ok, the group I run had a wiki that had alot of content. Well we switched server hosts and moved the wiki with us. We uploaded the wiki files and uploaded the backed up SQL. But all the content is missing. It shows the pages there, but it says the pages have no content. How do I fix this? [19:28:39] Justic: Can you check that the revision and text tables imported correctly? [19:28:40] ok, thank you, I try this [19:28:53]      , heh [19:29:49] The SQL was imported fully and correctly as we can tell. Only difference that we noticed is that the type of SQL is different. It switched from innodb to MyISAM if I remember right [19:30:55] Can you check that the text table has rows and content?
