[04:08:20] Sotiale: Users are merging their account using what? An extension? [04:08:39] Sotiale: And for e-mail... try enabling debugging and checking to see if the mail is getting sent out properly? [04:08:42] There's a debug log. [04:08:48] And presumably your mail server has a log somewhere. [04:08:54] Check that the addresses are valid, etc. [04:09:01] Sometimes people enter stupid shit. [04:09:06] Hi HRezaei. [04:09:11] Good to see you. [04:09:11] Oh, it isn't my private wiki. [04:09:18] Which wiki? [04:09:23] Wikimedia project wiki.. at kowiki. [04:09:27] Oh. [04:09:33] Sorry, misunderstood. :-) [04:09:50] Sotiale: Please file a bug at https://bugs.wikimedia.org [04:10:02] Include the site URL, any links to discussion about the problem, etc. [04:10:06] You probably want two bugs. [04:10:15] One for the e-mail issue and one for the ... other issue. [04:10:31] I'm not sure about merging. [04:10:44] But just try to be as detailed as possible in your bug reports. I'm not sure how easy that is [10:53:34] so we keep them forever (for now) [10:53:42] definitely not easier than limiting sizes [10:53:47] ah a LRU based on squid log might do it [10:54:01] 03(mod) You can only have one Exhibit query per page - 10https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/22736 +comment (10Neill Mitchell) [10:54:02] but then we only log 1/1000 of our frontend caches [10:54:08] hashar: yeah, that'd work *very* fine. [10:54:11] yeah, is not particularly simple. [10:54:25] we can also have some kind of a central repository tracking all thumb usages [10:54:39] that'd be a lot of work? The functions provided are basically UTF-8-aware versions of the standard Lua string methods, plus a few basic additions. [16:48:03] ok, thanks! [16:51:00] sumanah: The system does byweekly deposits automatically. Tweaking the amount each time is a bit of trouble (I usually take holidays off instead of having the deposit modified). Technically part-time is available, but I'd really prefer to avoid that. There are stuff that do need to get done at work. But besides that it's fairly flexible. [16:52:13] Why would you prefer to avoid going part-time? [16:52:56] You only have so much time available every week to work. If you take on another project, such as an IEG, then you need to reduce how much work you are doing in other parts of your life, such as your paid job. [16:53:18] If you don't want to completely take a sabbatical from work, then you would need to go part-time, in my opinion. [16:54:22] I've seen one of my acquaintances try to write a book, and he simply added it on top of his existing commitments instead of going to, say, 3 days a week at his job. He ended up having to return the advance that the publisher had paid him. [16:55:59] Dantman: I suggest that you systematically analyze how much time you spend, each week or each month, and on what. Make sure you allot time for self-care and fun. Figure out what you are willing to give up, and for how long. If necessary, reduce the scope of your IEG project to suit what you can actually do. [16:56:10] Does that make sense? [16:56:18] Reducing the work is fine. It's just the switch from period salary to tracked hours. [16:57:04] can i get the select-statement, that is generated by the $dbr->select Function? [16:58:08] lbenedix: There's an argument-for-argument identical function in the database class with a slightly different name that'll give you the sql string instead of run it. [16:58:45] lbenedix: $dbr->selectSQLText [16:59:50] $dbr->select is basically selectSQLText+query [16:59:56] It's a two line function. I'm not sure if the proposal ever went anywhere. [22:27:46] It's unclear to me whether that became het deploy or git-deploy or nothing at all. [22:27:57] it became git-deploy [22:28:07] it turns out to have a feature list similar to git [22:28:35] andre__: ^ [22:28:44] I know almost nothing about scap, etc., but it never was clear to me why you couldn't just run "git pull" on each server.
