[12:18:31] Is there a way to make a template that creates headers so that the sections can be edited for each page using the template instead of editing the template itself? [13:12:21] legoktm: You don't need to join on user there, FWIW. [13:12:37] rev_user_text, ofc. [14:26:15] Is it always populated [15:19:54] Hi, I'm having trouble getting MW1.27 installed in a Windows 2012 environment. At the language selection screen of the installer I'm getting "Your session data was lost! Check your php.ini session.save_path". I'm having trouble finding information about this online and I'm unsure of where to start troubleshooting since my understanding is that PHP session handling isn't in use in 1.27 [15:55:24] Odd, I was able to get passed the error but I'm not sure how. I set session.cookie_domain back to default, and set session.use_only_cookies = 0 in php.ini and was able to continue installation. [15:56:20] It worked once, but a new browser session experiences the same issue. Oh well, I got things installed and that's what I needed [16:19:16] Hello. Please say how to remove the thumbnails? I am uploading a new version of the image, but it is not updated. "Purge" doesn't help [16:20:27] How to clean old versions of files? [16:21:32] MailGik: are you saying that you uploaded a new version of a file, but the thumbnail still shows the old version? [16:21:34] MailGik: are you sure it's not cached by your browser? try viewing the page in private mode, or with a different browser [16:22:41] Yaron, yes. MatmaRex, it doesn't help [16:32:58] Yaron: You know how to fix it? [16:34:03] MailGik: sorry, no idea - I've never heard of such a thing happening. [16:34:42] If you have access to the server, you can go into the /images directory and try to see, based on the file timestamps, whether the thumbnails are indeed the old version. [16:36:28] Is it possible with the release version of 1.27 to force the use of php session handling? [17:03:08] The Phabricator pages for extensions all say that you can use a URL like "ssh://vcs@git-ssh.wikimedia.org/diffusion/ESFO/extension-semanticforms.git". [17:03:39] But when I call "git clone" on that, it displays this error message: "ssh: connect to host git-ssh.wikimedia.org port 7822: Network is unreachable". [17:03:51] Is something down right now? [17:10:24] Yaron, what Phabricator pages for extensions? [17:10:54] ah. https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/diffusion/ESFO/ ? [17:12:09] might be a topic for #wikimedia-devtools [17:12:13] I only get this error: Received disconnect from 208.80.154.250 port 22:2: Too many authentication failures for vcs [17:15:43] andre__: okay, thanks, I'll ask on that channel. [17:18:21] hi everyone.... im having trouble uploading files on media wiki... Uploading files on MediaWiki is simply not working. It behaves as it uploads but then the image thumbnail shows as if its broken and looking into the upload directors I cannot find any uploaded images. Yes the locaSetting is correct, and yes the /tmp folder has 777 permission and the www user is the owner. Also the images folder has 777 permission and the www user i [17:19:03] khaled, which MediaWiki version? [17:19:14] also, the end of your previous message got cut. [17:19:20] ill get you the exact one give me a sec [17:19:38] 1.26.2 [17:19:58] i tried a normal php script and it worked fine [17:20:02] Which software do you use for creating thumbnails? [17:20:02] so i feel its a bug [17:20:28] after debugging mediawiki a bit I found that mediawiki is using the same temp folder as my php script [17:20:35] so it is probably not a permission issue [17:21:02] sorry the end of my message was stating that I tried my own upload script which worked :) [17:21:06] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Errors_and_symptoms#Image_Thumbnails_not_working_and.2For_appearing [17:21:21] and https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuration_settings#Thumbnail_settings [17:21:39] but its not the thumbnails only, the image is also not appearing [17:21:43] as in it is not uploading [17:22:13] i do have the correct setting for image magic, I also tried disabling image magic with no luck [17:26:03] khaled: Hmm, no idea if stuff on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:How_to_debug might help, and/or checking your server log. If noone here knows either, please also try posting on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Project:Support_desk [17:26:37] ok thank you [21:02:05] RFC meeting starting now in #wikimedia-office: Notifications in core [21:33:52] Hello, In chrome, there is option to request desktop version when I click three dots on the top right hand side. It doesn't work in Wikipedia brower [21:34:05] When i click request desktop version in mobile browser it should show desktop version. Now, we have to scroll down and click desktop version. Thanks [21:35:24] Maybe you can do something to mediawiki and make that work. That would be great.
