[02:50:44] i want to upgrade mediawiki on our red hat 6.8 server, but php version is older than 5.5.9... however there is software collection for pho 5.6 but it installs it into /opt/rh and have to enable it with environment variables, is it possible to get mediawiki to recognize/use the software collection in /opt/rh? [03:04:19] scar: you need to configure your webserver to use that version of php somehow [03:04:23] it's not a mediawiki thing [03:05:49] (I think changing the path to whatever php module it is loading to your new version should be sufficient, but I'm largely unfamiliar with the process) [03:16:30] Skizzerz thanks [10:58:40] if i build a site using MediaWiki is all of the data stored locally in my database or is some of the data sent out still? [10:59:52] it's in your database. where would it be "sent out"? [11:02:58] I didnt think any data would be stored anywhere else I just wanted to make sure it was all contained [14:07:31] any reason why hiding a revisions edit summary wouldn't also hide the edit summary from the new page entry in recent changes? [14:15:56] c: there probably is a reason, but i can't think of a *good* reason ;) [14:16:00] sounds like a bug... [17:34:03] We've been battling some IE11 issues for VisualEditor when used in tandem with the Moderation plugin. After having resolved several it seems that there might be an issue with the Cite Extension. See https://github.com/edwardspec/mediawiki-moderation/issues/9#issuecomment-302067647 for more details. [17:34:23] I'd love to talk to anyone who has experience with the Cite Extension [17:39:13] I'll be knocked offline soon - feel free to email me at sam@agileventures.org [17:43:03] tansaku_: how do i reproduce that error? [18:05:16] DanielK_WMDE: indeed. I thought it was strange after upgrading that deleted pages show up as "N Red link here" after the fact [18:19:47] MatmaRex; at https://wiki.healthylondon.org [18:19:56] if you try to edit using the visual editor in IE11 [18:20:14] we've been using the saucelabs free account to see the behaviour in IE11 [18:20:16] tansaku: yeah, i did, it worked [18:20:24] in IE11? [18:21:15] yeah [18:23:36] interesting [18:24:01] I do have some folks with it working in IE11 - others not [18:24:15] tansaku: maybe it's a problem on specific pages? i tried the main page [18:25:12] yes, it's occurring for me on the Test_Page, but not the main page ... weird ... [18:25:55] that's a page where there is a moderated edit outstanding [18:26:01] I wonder if that's what's causing it [18:26:07] can you try the Test_Page? [18:28:31] tansaku: works for me. the editor loads, no errors. https://i.imgur.com/wYXLqMe.png [18:28:56] tansaku: i'm trying logged out… maybe it's only a problem when you have some permissions for the moderation stuff? [18:37:41] MatmaRex - that would make sense - I think it's trying to add a message that there are pending edits ... [18:39:32] tansaku: btw, you should be able to get better debugging information if you enable breakpoint on all exceptions: https://i.imgur.com/8qoMW65.png so that you can see the backtrace [19:16:45] great tip - thanks MatmaRex [21:17:04] hello is there anybody here working on the wikiwand project ? [22:04:46] Hi tran. [22:04:49] I'm not. [22:10:34] hello yvette. that because i was wondering if it was a wikipedia projekt that i could work on or it was an external projekt [22:13:34] yvette i got the answer i'm looking for :) [22:13:38] Wikiwand is unrelated to Wikimedia Foundation projects. [22:22:26] time for me to look for a wiki projekt i can work.
