[07:23:20] sr [13:31:20] Hi saper. [16:17:27] Hello IRC. I am having an issue with DISPLAYTITLE. I am getting this message: "Warning: Display title "Dictionary:Shepherd’s cane" overrides earlier display title "Instrumento de Shepard"." This error message seems to only appear for special characters like apostrophes and italics. I have tried adding noerror to the DISPLAYTITLE, I have tried removing DISPLAYTITLE, and the error message still appears. [16:18:30] We are using the Translate extension. I am not sure how to address the issue. I've removed DISPLAYTITLE from the articles and still see this message. Any ideas would be much appreciated. [18:16:55] how can I get the article id in mediawiki skin? any php function? tried echo WikiPage::getId(); [18:17:35] also $article->getID(); [18:17:50] or $this->mPage->getID(); nothing works [18:23:11] please help me with getting pageid... [18:23:57] dentopolis: how does it not work? what happens? [18:24:59] no data is beeing displayed [18:25:40] i'm using my custom php to extract pagetitle, text, modified date etc to create json rich snippet [18:26:59] but to create a mysql query i need this current article ID. and I don't know how to do it. [18:34:19] dentopolis: how are you displaying it? maybe that part is the problem. you can't just use 'echo' [18:35:35] i know that I should write an extension, but all my php I placed in a skin works very good. [18:50:23] any help please? [18:53:12] first of all, you don't need to write queries, you already have all this information available [19:47:46] hi, how can I set the main page title? Is there a configuration page for that? [19:50:57] mertyildiran: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:FAQ#How_do_I_change_the_Main_Page_title.3F [19:56:04] andre__: moving the page is not fixing the issue. Something looks bonded to "Mypagename" and when URL the page's name is "Mypagename" it's overriding the title. [19:58:08] *when the URL is ""Mypagename" ... [19:59:28] andre__: also there is no "DISPLAYTITLE" in the page. I don't know what is overriding. Maybe there is a config page for this? [20:05:27] mertyildiran, if you expected a ""DISPLAYTITLE" in the page", please explain what makes you expect that. [20:06:44] overriding the title to which new title exactly? After you performed which steps exactly? [20:07:11] andre__: Page's URL is /Mypagename but Their page tag is different and page's source does not contain any DISPLAYTITLE [20:07:47] andre__: What I'm trying to ask is how is that possible? Page is not written by me. [20:07:50] mertyildiran, you didn't fully read the linked instructions [20:08:02] (How is your question related to the main page title?) [20:08:15] you haven't edited MediaWiki:Mainpage? [20:08:39] MaxSem: MediaWiki:Mainpage is already to assigned to /Mypagename which not the default main page. [20:08:52] what is "assigned"? [20:09:50] andre__: MediaWiki:Mainpage is a configuration page right? You put the desired page's name to there so it redirects. [20:10:03] mertyildiran, errr, no? [20:11:12] andre__: OK then please look at this page: https://lugat.org/Anasayfa [20:11:14] oh wait, if you put it like that you're expectations are correct. I just would not use the term "configuration page", sorry! [20:12:48] andre__: on that page I expect to be "Anasayfa - Lugâti't-Türk" but it's "Vikipedi: Özgür Ansiklopedi". [20:13:48] <andre__> https://lugat.org/MediaWiki:Mainpage says "Anasayfa". When I enter https://lugat.org/ in my browser, I end up on https://lugat.org/Anasayfa. So that part works as expected. [20:13:52] <andre__> mertyildiran, maybe you mean https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgSitename ? [20:14:15] <mertyildiran> No my problem is not URL [20:14:28] <andre__> I do not refer to the URL. [20:14:46] <mertyildiran> andre__: I want to change what inside "<title>Vikipedi: Özgür Ansiklopedi" on https://lugat.org/Anasayfa [20:14:55] Did you check https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgSitename ? [20:15:23] andre__: $wgSitename = "Lugat"; not related [20:15:58] andre__: please take a look to other pages on that site. [20:16:16] on that specific page something overriding the title pattern [20:16:47] how exactly did you get the code? [20:17:05] andre__: what code? [20:17:10] for the MediaWiki software. [20:17:15] that you installed on that server. [20:17:27] It's not related with the source code. [20:17:36] and my question was how you got that code. [20:17:37] It's coming from the database [20:17:52] My question was how you installed MediaWiki on that server :) [20:18:01] mertyildiran, https://lugat.org/index.php?title=%C3%96zel%3AAra&profile=advanced&fulltext=Search&search=vikipedi&ns8=1&profile=advanced [20:18:56] if you import all the messages from Wikipedia, your site will totes call itself Wikipedia ;) [20:19:02] Ah! Max knows stuff that I don't. :) [20:19:32] MaxSem: thank you so much! [20:19:53] andre__: also thank you for your efforts :) [20:20:46] yw :) [20:23:41] andre__: it was apperantly MediaWiki:Pagetitle-view-mainpage :) [20:24:31] andre__: I have a second question. I have unnecessarily moved this page: https://lugat.org/index.php?title=Anasayfa&action=history [20:25:08] From /Anasayfa to /Anasayfa2 and then from /Anasayfa2 to /Anasayfa [20:25:17] How can I revert back the history? [20:25:49] why do you care? [20:27:11] Because /Anasayfa2 seems corrupted. It's not possible to create a page named /Anasayfa2 anymore as it seems. I want to learn how we can handle this kind of situations? [20:28:43] mertyildiran: why do you think so? [20:28:48] andre__: I mean it's not a big deal but I want to learn for the future. Page1 -> Page2 then Page2 -> Page1 and now Page2 is poof :D [20:29:04] looks like it just redirects? [20:29:06] andre__: I don't understand [20:29:28] mertyildiran, when you try to create the page named Anasayfa2, what happens? [20:29:30] andre__: yeah but tell me if I want to create a page named /Anasayfa2 how I can do that? [20:29:50] Every page has an "Edit" link in its upper right corner. [20:30:12] andre__: I'm unable to access to https://lugat.org/Anasayfa2 because it automatically redirects to https://lugat.org/Anasayfa [20:30:23] mertyildiran, that is what I just wrote. "it just redirects" [20:30:30] you replied "I don't understand". [20:30:43] but now you say yourself it redirects. [20:30:44] So we agree :D [20:30:55] see https://lugat.org/index.php?title=Anasayfa2&action=edit [20:31:18] if you remove that #REDIRECT content of that page, it should not redirect anymore. [20:31:44] also see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Redirects [20:32:27] andre__: thank you so much! this solved the problem: https://lugat.org/index.php?title=Anasayfa2&action=edit [21:19:32] hello, how can i display article id in a skin with php? [21:24:36] dentopolis: Do you have the title object handy? [21:24:47] you can call $title->getArticleID(); [21:26:08] dentopolis: Also, if you have a skin template object, its the key articleid [21:26:40] dentopolis: e.g. $this->get( 'articleid' ); [21:39:41] thank you! it works
