[01:08:46] Hey all, I'm making some dropdown input fields using PageForms, but how do I make 'values from category' show only the pages in said category, and not pages & categories both? Alternatively, is there a way to have the value be something which is in both category A and B, but NOT in category C? [01:10:00] (I'll also accept direction in the form of referral to another extension or instructional site.) [01:24:58] Please how can I remove the site bar and header from mediawiki completely so that I get a landing page that look like the donate wiki [01:34:54] I'm not sure, but is that this extension? https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:LandingCheck [01:35:56] I don't want to make a donate wiki o [01:36:20] I just need a landing page like www.wikipedia.org [12:10:23] has anything changed regarding histories between 3am UTC until 7am? [13:49:53] Yaron: You can ask here [13:49:59] Alright! [13:50:24] I maintain an extension called Cargo that, among other things, defines a special page, Special:CargoTables, that lists a bunch of tables. Here's an example: http://discoursedb.org/wiki/Special:CargoTables [13:51:08] Note the "actions" in parentheses; I based that on how MediaWiki does it in pages like Special:ListUsers: http://discoursedb.org/wiki/Special:ListUsers (ignore the fact that these are all spam accounts). [13:51:57] Administrators see more actions than just "View" and "Drilldown"; they may see as many as five per row. (Just like Special:ListUsers shows more actions for admins.) [13:52:37] I'm thinking of replacing these actions with icons; admins, for example, see a "Delete" action, and this could get replaced with a trash can icon. [13:53:40] My question is: is this a good idea? It would make the display shorter and maybe cleaner-looking, but it somewhat goes against MediaWiki conventions, and I try to have my extensions copy the look-and-feel of core MediaWiki whenever possible. [13:56:10] Actually, it would probably at most be only four actions per row, if that changes anything. [14:45:07] Yaron: IMHO the issue with icons is that they're not always very obvious; that being said, given that OOUI is a thing and whatnot, I doubt using icons would go against MW's conventions in any way [14:50:50] ashley: okay, thanks. Is there some sort of guidance on when it should be text, when it should be an icon, and when it should be both? [14:51:25] Special:RecentChanges, for example, has all three in different places. [14:51:47] not that I'm aware of, but that doesn't mean anything as I haven't been following the OOUI stuff and whatnot closely; use your best judgment, I'd say :) [14:52:27] Alright. :) [17:34:52] ar.wikipedia has an interesting modification to the "Templates used" section, with two columns and color indications for which type of transclusion it was https://usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com/file/fd1QTzMb/templates-used-arwiki.png [23:38:18] What could be faulty in a scenario where images only appear on page preview but disappear on Published?
