[17:58:39] I'm wondering if anyone here might be able to assist me with a new configuration of mediawiki I recently setup. Is this a good place to request assistance with configurations? [17:59:37] sstenzel: what exactly do you need help configuring? [18:00:21] I'm having an issue I can't seem to find support documentation on. Everything appears to be mostly working correctly. My Issues is when using some build is commands with double brackets [[ ]] [18:00:51] For instances when trying to link an image, instead of it displaying an image I am given a link that leads to the upload page [18:01:03] How are you linking the file? [18:03:45] So for instance, if my files is located here after upload: http://10.0.1.30/images/1/12/Documentation-tables.png I would use> [[File:http://10.0.1.30/images/1/12/Documentation-tables.png]] [18:05:00] Isn't there [[Image ? [18:05:27] So in the docs somewhere I read Image was depreciated, however I did try it as well same effect. [18:05:51] you might not need the http there though [18:06:09] I have tried it without http, and with images/ notation [18:06:11] (I am just guessing, don't use Mediawiki myself, have just set some up) [18:06:29] If I am reading the documentation correctly, should just display the image. Instead a hyperlink is created, it reads as File:Http://10.0.1.30/images/1/12/Documentation-tables.png, and the url it points to is > http://10.0.1.30/index.php?title=Special:Upload&wpDestFile=Http://10.0.1.30/images/1/12/Documentation-tables.png [18:06:51] Which if clicked takes me to the file upload page. [18:07:03] maybe that image does not exist [18:07:11] It does [18:07:17] You can manually enter the url and reach it. [18:08:13] I think this is a configuration issue, though I'm not sure how. I say this because there are a few other things that don't work correctly. [18:08:50] For instance, if I use Template:Color, example> {{color|orange|Let's be careful}} what I will get is a hyper link. [18:09:12] It will display the text Template:Color and have a link value of > http://10.0.1.30/index.php?title=Template:Color&action=edit&redlink=1 [18:10:42] Hmm [18:11:37] My only conclusion is that something is rewriting something somewhere php wise, but my installation was pretty by the book so I'm not sure where to begin. [18:12:33] yeah [18:12:40] what would happen if you upload an image from teh link [18:13:09] Are you actually inserting [[File:http://10.0.1.30/images/1/12/Documentation-tables.png]] in wikicode instead of [[File:Documentation-tables.png]] ? [18:14:42] I was :) and after changing to just the upload name, it is displaying. Thank you :) [18:15:02] Any idea's on why {{color|orange|Let's be careful}} would be giving me a hyperlink? [18:20:34] If not, no worries, it is not as critical as images as I can work around it with [18:31:28] sstenzel: It sounds like you just don't have a template called "color" on your wiki [18:31:45] Templates are editable and creatable, so just create a template called "color" that does what you want [18:32:14] @Naypta Ah ok, thanks for the help. [18:32:21] Thanks all, have a good day. [18:32:26] No problem! :)
