[15:44:23] Hello. I was drafting a ticket in my wiki regarding the issue of "Combining ConfirmEdit, with Google reCAHPTCHA noCAPTCHA as CAPTCHA with MobileFrontend, leads to a situation where no CAPTCHA to solve is presented to the mobile interface users, yet it asks for a code, rendering mobile users unable to edit"-issue I've noticed. But when I look into it I found a couple of years old ticket T203478 which lead to some nice chap contributing code https:/ [15:44:23] T203478: Support No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA in VisualEditor - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T203478 [15:44:24] /gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/extensions/ConfirmEdit/+/478288/ and the issue got marked as solved and closed [15:46:06] hi [15:46:39] So I am a little confused. Perhaps it was solved, but then something broke it? The ticket I drafted until I ran to that "closed, solved" ticket is at https://develop.consumerium.org/wiki/MediaWiki/Tickets/Drafts/No_CAPTCHA_served_for_users_using_MobileFrontend if someone want's to help [15:47:26] Iamahuman: that task says it was fixed in VisualEditor, but it doesn't mention MobileFrontend. so it might not work there [15:47:53] very good point MatmaRex [15:49:18] So I should go ahead with the ticket and address it to the MobileFrontend developers? [15:49:42] probably [15:56:02] Thanks. This has been stressing me, because there are so many users with just mobile phones and so few rich enough to own / access a computer when looking at the situation globally. at least most of the hits on the wikis are from mobile [16:03:00] Sounds like a good reason not to use Google's captcha [17:30:03] Ok, I filed a ticket on the issue that seems to be about mw:Extension:MobileFrontend not quite supporting mw:Extension:ConfirmEdit. I hope I did a good job at it https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T274807 [17:46:14] QuestyCaptcha works fine in MobileFrontend. Problem may be with ReCaptcha [17:47:37] Vulpix: Is there a clean-cut way of specifying a different captcha for web and mobile users? [17:47:59] none that I'm aware of
