[09:15:51] hi. I got a database with information about 800 locations in an sql database. since it's from a wordpress, it's formatted html content, and I've exported this to 800 files of html. I'm fairly new to mediawiki, and I'm looking around for options for how to import this to mediawiki. I've so far found out that the pandoc application could be used for converting the html to wiki markup. now I'm looking into [09:15:57] what options there are for importing 800 pages into mediawiki. any advice / pointers for how to automate the import of 800 pages is very welcome, I don't want to do this manually from the import page :) [14:43:25] Hello :) [14:45:40] I'm having issues getting Bing to accept my wiki. It says that the pages don't get indexed because they don't meet guidelines. Is this a known issue. I don't believe I have anything odd on my pages as far as I know. [14:45:55] Google does index each page fine. [14:47:21] "The inspected URL is known to Bing but has some issues which are preventing indexation. We recommend you follow Bing Webmaster Guidelines to increase your chances of indexation." when I choose manual index at bing webmasters [14:48:49] Why the reference system does not work in test1 and test2 wikipedias (English)? To test some references I actually have to edit the original Wikipedia and discard my edits [14:50:15] Forza: I have my wiki indexed by Bing with no issues. Maybe your content looks spammy or low quality to bing? [14:50:43] Vulpix: yea. I do have a seo extension so maybe that's it? [14:51:43] https://paste.tnonline.net/files/Aimf7Ij1HWnL_Screenshot_20210516-165102_Opera.png [14:52:10] A SEO extension won't generate good content. Good content needs to be generated by humans. Does a SEO extension help when your wiki has no cotent? Probably don't [14:53:13] Is there something wrong with https://wiki.tnonline.net/w/Blog/NFS_on_Btrfs [14:54:20] Or maybe this https://wiki.tnonline.net/w/Blog/Btrfs-progs_v5.12_released [14:54:39] It's not spam or weird language or odd links in it. [14:55:07] So yea, im a little bit confused to what I should change to make it work. [14:55:23] GeorgiosMavropal: I'm guessing the various templates don't exist on the test wikis [14:56:24] Maybe Bing thinks it's too short to be worth appearing on search results [14:57:01] Otherwise, I don't see anything wrong with it. In any case, you may want to post that issue to a Bing product forum [15:02:34] have you looked at the Bing Webmaster Guidelines? [15:30:41] Vulpix: yea I might see if there is such a forum. I did look at the guidelines several times and I think I follow it pretty good. Perhaps something related to the last paragraph https://www.bing.com/webmasters/help/webmasters-guidelines-30fba23a [16:05:18] Vulpix: I removed the wikiSEO extension and the {{SEO}} template from the pages. [16:06:35] But now I have a mission meta description tag instead that Bing is moaning about https://paste.tnonline.net/files/ANSlIFF2NbbM_Screenshot_20210516-180323_Opera.png [16:07:34] Vulpix: does bing give that warning for you too? And how do I add meta description tags without that extension? [16:11:07] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Description2 can provide such meta description tag [16:15:13] Hm I wonder if it should be needed [16:17:44] For Bing it's an error, but the page will be indexed anyway [16:28:10] Hm. Probably the issue is the content is too short. Several pages are indexed but not all of them. And technically all are the same except different amount of text [16:51:20] Hi. Does anyone know how I would resolve this issue with Lua: "warning Lua error at line 169: Dataset c:Data:I18n/Shared Template Warning.tab is not valid." https://wintergatancommunity.miraheze.org/wiki/Module:TNT ? [16:54:39] Reception123: the json looks valid, but incorrect [16:54:52] for exmaple [16:54:53] "warning", [16:54:53] { [16:54:56] shouldn't that be [16:54:59] "warning": { [16:56:19] That's strange as it would have all been imported and unchanged [16:56:33] It might be right, but it looks odd [16:57:04] Hmm, if I'm not mistaken it was taken from MediaWiki.org
