[16:11:49] I wanted to translate your article but I think there is some sort of COI [16:11:51] lol :) [16:12:25] o/ Shilad [16:12:36] was talking to some people about Wikibrain in Boise. [16:12:46] Lots of interest in navigation-based information spaces. :) [16:12:46] Really?! [16:13:00] That's great to hear. [16:13:20] It's nice that we have you giving a showcase so that I had something to share with them :D [16:13:58] Cool! Also point them at the demo (maybe you did that): http://cartograph.info [16:14:13] Did they have specific use cases or needs in mind? [16:15:02] I couldn't remember the name of cartograph.info [16:15:18] More wanting to think about navigation interfaces based on clickstream data. [16:16:18] I just remembered I didn't have lunch and it's 6 PM here, I go grab something to eat and come back real soon [16:16:37] Interesting. I'm literally working on navigation vectors right now. Once I close this up (which will still take some time), I'm looking forward to making cartograph more service-y [16:16:38] yikes! Get those calories :) [16:16:52] :D nice! [16:17:31] I've spent the last three days off on and on trying to get a handle on testing in Spark. Brutal. [16:17:45] Super fragile. [16:20:16] Do the tests need to run in Spark? I can imagine there's some non-determinism? [16:32:54] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/JADE [16:33:01] Just updated. Much better IMO [16:34:40] halfak: I'm trying to fix errors, can you explain this line: https://github.com/wiki-ai/revscoring/blob/master/revscoring/scoring/models/tests/test_model.py#L22 ? [16:35:02] I even checked the source code of nose I'm still baffled https://github.com/nose-devs/nose/blob/7c26ad1e6b7d308cafa328ad34736d34028c122a/nose/tools/trivial.py#L25 [16:35:30] Oh! ha! Yes. [16:35:51] So, the "module" option for loading from config should be able to import any module and make it available. [16:35:57] So I just imported eq_ and used that. [16:36:07] You could import something from pytest instead. [16:36:25] see line 17 [16:36:26] oh I see, okay [16:36:36] :) [16:38:10] 10Scoring-platform-team, 10Wikilabels, 10User-Ladsgroup: Edit quality campaign for Serbian Wikipedia - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T178108#3701408 (10Zoranzoki21) Translate for "Edit quality (20k sample)" is Квалитет измена (20 хиљада узорака). [17:41:22] halfak: you work to much, have an alcholic beverage on me [17:42:31] :P Na. I'm just about to go play with my bike anyway ^_^ [17:42:37] Thanks though. [17:43:00] Also, I'm on a high dose of ibuprofen to deal with some joint issues so alcohol is a bad idea. [17:43:13] ibuprofen + alcohol = dead liver [17:43:23] But *normally* I'd love a nice whiskey :D [17:44:47] halfak: O_o what did you do to your joints? [17:45:22] Currently, I just have a kink in my neck. Just a bit of swelling between my axis and atlas (c1/c2) [17:45:32] Ow [17:46:03] well good luck with that man... that sucks [17:46:33] heh. It's OK. Mostly, I'm doing the ibuprofen to help it heal faster -- not to deal with the pain (which is pretty minor) [17:46:38] But thanks :) [17:46:58] Fun reading if you're an anatomy geek like me https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_(anatomy) [17:47:49] halfak: No aaron we're not giving ores body parts we dont need to let it take over the world too it already has taken over wikipedia :P [17:48:01] CYBORGS! [17:48:13] Related: http://stuartgeiger.com/bots-cyborgs-halfaker.pdf [17:48:33] halfak: Stepped away for lunch. The tests do need to run in Spark, but non-determinism is not really the issue. Spark is just a big system, and changes quite a bit from version to version so the testing frameworks themselves are somewhat fragile. [17:48:36] why am i not shocked that ^ is existant [17:48:49] They do simple things well, but when you are doing anything remotely complex it gets trickier. [17:49:09] Sounds like large scale computing to me, Shilad :) [17:49:27] No joke! [17:50:05] we need to invest in quantum computers [17:50:14] I will say that having a testing framework (even a fragile one) has definitely saved me time on this. Just not fun to block for a long time on something that you thought would be trivial. [17:50:51] right. Agreed :( [17:51:14] I'm out of here. Gotta get the bike ready for a race tomorrow ^_^ (mostly I'm just playing with my cool bike because it's fun) [17:51:17] o/ [17:51:56] Have fun. It should be a messy ride! [17:52:15] have fun and be careful halfak :) [19:03:41] (03PS1) 10Ladsgroup: Fix merge strategy in $wgOresDraftQualityNS [extensions/ORES] - 10https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/385803 (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T176183)
