[19:15:34] hi drdee [19:15:43] drdee: I got a vanilla hue from the cloudera repo [19:15:51] I'm trying to configure it with my current install [19:16:12] beeswax can't connect to port 11000 [19:16:22] I think it's trying to connect to hive [19:17:00] probably puppet-cdh4 has all of this solved [19:17:10] yes i would think so [19:18:07] is it hard to use puppet-cdh4 ? (I'm only rolling my own because I'm not sure how easy/hard it would be to use puppet-cdh4) [19:20:18] (I will eventually give up on rolling my own soon because configuration is too sneaky. But so far I've hadoop/hive working on it. The only thing holding me back is hue, which would allow me to write queries properly for hive) [19:21:11] hadoop, hive, webhdfs, hue are working. hue has a user and I can log into it [19:21:31] but have to get hue connected to hive in some way.. [19:22:02] (hadoop 2.2.0 , hive 0.11.0 ) [19:22:46] (hue, master branch, latest commit ) [19:24:25] trying to read this to find out how to bridge hue <=> hive http://cloudera.github.io/hue/docs-2.0.1/manual.html#_hive_configuration [19:30:19] you don't need hue, you can just run hive from the command line
