[14:21:56] a project* [14:22:05] d33tah: no [14:22:30] d33tah: if I remember correctly, I suggested to create a task in phabricator so that others can respond [14:22:52] yeah, i just thought i'd show my project before i make such a task [14:23:03] it's live only when my pc is up right now [14:30:57] "I would like to request a server for my WikiSpy project, which allows the user to look for Wikipedia edits made by a given reverse DNS domain. Since I am hosting a copy of the rDNS records of the whole world along with indexes, I will need about 200 GiB of disk space. The project was so far successfully tested on plwiki. The source code can be found here: https://github.com/d33tah/wikispy" [14:31:06] valhallasw`cloud: should i add anything else? [14:32:06] d33tah: I'd add a few lines on how it works from a user perspective, and why people find it a useful tool (i.e. the typical way people use it) [14:33:08] will do, thanks ^^ [14:34:42] 7Tool-Labs: Epilog scripts for web services fail with exit codes 1 and 255 - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T96491#1218643 (10scfc) To clarify: The issue for this task would be "non-tool users can run `webservice`"; pre `portreleaser` this just failed silently from a `root` perspective. [14:42:05] The project is the continuation of my "plgov" project, which allowed the viewers to see all changes made my Polish administration officials and met with significant interest - I I had thousands of unique guests during the first day since its publication on Wykop.pl, the Polish equivalent of Reddit. A lot of political manipulation was found this way. Now, with WikiSpy, the users will be able to look [14:42:07] for any domain they find interesting and I will soon import changes to English WIkipedia as well. [14:42:09] From the user perspective, it is enough to select a Wikipedia and enter a domain one would like to see a report for (e.g. .gov). Then a table is displayed, with the following columns: IP, rDNS, Wikipedia title, edit time, visit count and a link to the changes in a readable form. The website can be easily translated to languages other than English and Polish and works with mobile devices. [14:42:11] valhallasw`cloud: how about now? [14:42:58] d33tah: sounds good [14:44:15] d33tah: I think you might be able to use the live database replicas, but I'm not sure how well that flies with joining with a 200GB table [14:44:23] d33tah: but people who have an idea on that will probably respond [14:45:39] 6Labs, 7Tracking: Create WikiSpy project - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T96512#1218662 (10d33tah) 3NEW [14:48:12] 6Labs, 7Tracking: Create WikiSpy project - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T96512#1218677 (10d33tah) [14:48:35] looks like i'd spam you guys by editing the post repeadetly [14:52:08] d33tah: that's OK [14:52:52] as in: try to keep the amount of edits limited, but if you need to edit it because your forgot to add something, please do edit [14:54:04] sure [16:21:30] is Tim Landscheidt here? i got an e-mail saying i got a shell account, but i have no idea where can i add my public key to log in [16:22:46] ok, i think i found it [16:25:36] i added the pubkey, but bastion still doesn't let me in - is there some delay in syncing that? [17:21:11] (already messaged labs-l about that, but perhaps i should have subscribed first) [17:23:00] (subscribed and sent it again) [17:41:43] d33tah: bastion is just a host to allow Labs users to connect to other instances within Labs via tunneling/proxy. Don't do any real work there, that should be done in your project (or in tools). These are different hosts and have gcc etc. [17:43:11] sitic: ah, i see, thanks [18:08:58] Change on 12wikitech.wikimedia.org a page Nova Resource:Tools/Access Request/I.yeckehzaare was created, changed by I.yeckehzaare link https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova+Resource%3aTools%2fAccess+Request%2fI.yeckehzaare edit summary: Created page with "{{Tools Access Request |Justification=Hello, this is Iman.
