[18:51:20] hey, i need help again . i will tell you after i complete server maintenance . [21:59:08] MaxSem: Hi, is there something that can or should be prepared in advance for the meeting in march? [21:59:24] hey apmon [22:00:30] I keep forgetting about emailng the page for our event [22:00:30] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Events/Wikimedia_Mapping_Event_2013 [22:01:05] we could add the topics we're interested in [22:08:49] Do you know if there is a decision whether to use renderd or tirex (or something else) for the backend rendering daemon? The current puppet scripts and packages use renderd, which I think has more scalability features like support for HTCP for cache expiry or support from distributing rendering across multiple rendering servers. On the other hand tirex tends to be more flexible and extendible. [22:10:23] so far I'm leaning towards renderd due to its "standardness", but the final call will be made in March [22:11:03] which doesn't mean that we will not change it if a need arises [22:11:18] also, I hate Perl:P [22:11:41] :-) Not my favourite language either [22:13:08] I guess a question is would it make sense to create puppet scripts and packages for tirex a head of time? But if the leaning is towards renderd, then probably not. [22:15:40] the trick is that our ops aren't interested much in doing anything with packages until we decide it 100% and prove them that this setup makes sense:) [22:17:42] looks like packaging Tirex is pretty straightforward [22:18:29] our debian package guru is coming, so it should go smoothly:) [22:18:39] Yes, it should be fairly straightforward, and I think there are debian packaging scripts in the repository already [22:19:16] Ah, having someone there who knows what they are doing is also useful... ;-) [23:15:32] [Commons-iOS] dz1111 opened pull request #27: Added 'SettingsSegue' identifier to storyboard (master...master) http://git.io/SY115Q
