[08:01:16] o/ [08:22:09] morning [08:25:45] hey joakino [14:43:20] mdholloway: o/ any issues with merging this: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/294376 [14:44:04] dbrant: go for it! [15:06:26] dr0ptp4kt: plz see these tasks as part of kickoff: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T137506 and https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T138019 [15:06:50] dr0ptp4kt: if team is OK, tag'em with the sprint and put them into To Do please and thanks [15:11:02] dbrant: Can you populate sprint 85 (and maybe 86)? The team didn't get a chance to review before the sprint started (today). Also, I'm gonna take the "Done" data from 84 now, so if anything can be resolved, please bring it over to 85 first, or I'll miss it. [15:14:28] maxbinder: doing... [15:14:52] dbrant: thx [15:14:56] dbrant: feeling better? [15:16:39] maxbinder: well enough to get stuff done ;) thanks [16:56:29] maxbinder: i put them in tracking for now [20:41:50] hey all! regarding the old win8/8.1 app -- i can pull that from the store, i believe it's on one of my accounts [20:41:59] my wikimedia account, that is [20:42:11] i can probably provide access to that if someone else needs control though [20:42:30] i heard a rumor ms folks are trying to get us to adopt a stub app for win10 that embeds the mobile site in a window? [21:08:42] ok i found a demo version of it they sent me a few weeks ago; wraps the mobile site, adds a back button to the title bar [21:08:46] pretty straightforward [21:09:01] if we want we could use that or a similar minimal shell on the mobile site and it should be very low-maintenance [21:09:15] or if we want we could just drop it entirely ;) [21:09:33] or see if they have another method for registering a URL-based web site in the store [21:12:13] brion: can you share the demo version they sent? [21:12:24] dbrant: sure, i'll forward [21:13:41] brion: cool! although, if it's simply a wrapper of the mobile site, then what's the added value? [21:15:18] main reason is to stake our claim in the namespace of apps called Wikipedia ;) [21:15:43] gotcha [21:15:54] some folks may actually prefer the store as a discovery method (who knows!) but i suspect search brings us more visits [21:16:47] there's potential for more system integration in an app, but i expect us to spend little time on it as long as it doesn't remain super-popular on phones/tabs [21:17:10] (even a mobile-site-wrapping-app potentially) [21:17:21] brion: looking at the store listing of our current win8 app, it looks like it still has a fair amount of users [21:17:36] yeah, people install it. i'm not convinced they have a good experience with it :D [21:17:45] since it never got maintained much after the initial experimental release [21:18:02] so if we're going to have _soemthing_ i'd rather it be something good, like our mobile site ;) [21:18:10] yes, agreed [21:18:26] anyway, let me know if i can set people up with credentials or anything else [21:18:35] cool, thanks! [21:18:42] i believe it's on bvibber@wikimedia.org or brion@wikimedia.org registration [22:10:05] jdlrobson: joakino: hey i found a mobile css bug - would i file ticket on the mobilefrontend work board (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/view/1157/) for it? [22:11:44] The left margin is clipped on this article. https://usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com/file/aexdY8Ks/Screen%20Shot%202016-06-20%20at%203.03.43%20PM.png [22:12:22] *unsure if u have other place for filing css tickets [22:12:53] jhobs: ^ [22:13:26] mhurd: just file a ticket and add MobileFrontend to it [22:13:40] mhurd: as long as you leave the priority as "Needs Triage," we'll see it in our normal process [22:13:44] thanks for asking! [22:13:52] jhobs: k will do! thx! [22:18:20] jhobs: i filed it: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T138271 [22:18:47] mhurd: thanks! I see it in our filter so we'll catch it at triage tomorrow [22:19:01] jhobs: woohoo! :) [22:44:00] dr0ptp4kt: 👍 [22:44:29] dr0ptp4kt: Toby suggested I put a Windows mobile app task in the "mobile app" phab project, but I only see android and ios. who gets it? [22:45:31] JoshM_: dbrant: any thoughts ^
