[06:14:50] Since problems with my mobile browser is what caused me to make trouble I would like to list the issues (or a few of them) here. [06:15:09] Currently there is no way to edit whole articles with a mobile browser. [06:15:43] My suggestion is that the top "edit" option should first ask "edit lead or edit the entire article" not unlike with desktop users. [06:16:10] IP users (as Microsoft Edge often logs me out) can't go to talk pages from the mobile view. [06:16:53] Editing talk pages is a nightmare on mobile, you can't easily add Wikiprojects, well you can but only once, after that you have to go to desktop mode to make adjustments. [06:17:37] Mobile users also lack the ability to insert miscellaneous characters like desktop users can. [06:17:55] I know, no-one will read this, but I'm naming them anyhow. [06:19:00] The only time the mobile editor looks half as good as the desktop editor is when you are creating an article for the first time, after that the options become more limited. [06:19:58] IP users (on mobile- should be just as welcome to talk pages as any other "user class". [15:01:11] happy day everyone! [15:02:09] I recently tried to use the offline compilation feature of the android app (I know, it's not ready yet) [15:03:02] I tried to load a random article and all went well. The article was displayed, I had access to various sections through the table of contents etc. [15:04:01] In the mean time I noted one little issue which I'm not sure is known or not. The date shown in the toast message seems to be incorrect. [15:04:07] https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/F8980864 [16:04:27] dr0ptp4kt: power went out [16:04:37] Working in it [16:05:56] mdholloway: just to clarify, we're sure that we want to apply those styles to all "video" tags, instead of the more specific ".content figure video" class? [16:06:33] dbrant: no, the selector group is actually the same as before [16:06:59] mdholloway: it doesn't appear so... [16:07:38] putting it on a newline doesn't remove it from the selector group aiui, otherwise the formatting rules wouldn't make sense [16:07:59] also, according to the spec, whitespace (which apparently includes newlines) before and after commas is ignored [16:08:06] https://www.w3.org/TR/css3-selectors/#grouping [16:09:22] I've just tried injecting a video element into a page, outside of a figure element, and the style gets applied to it. [16:10:18] dr0ptp4kt: do you want to email with your herald needs? [16:10:22] hmm :( [16:12:45] dbrant: i'll update [16:38:40] mdholloway: any objection to beta release? [16:49:01] dbrant: no objection! [16:49:44] mdholloway: actually can you take a glance at this first: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/370245 [16:49:50] and then i'll kick it off [16:52:56] dbrant: looks good [16:53:00] glad to get that cleaned up! [16:53:11] thx [19:17:47] niedzielski: hi [19:18:01] matanya: o/ hey there [19:18:57] niedzielski: would you be interested giving a remote lecture about wikimedia apps in an open source conf in Israel similar to FOSDEM ? [19:19:39] (there is a wikimedia track, which i am orgenizing) [19:22:04] mdholloway: one more note about the parsoid style change -- it looks like your patch removes "clear: both" from the style. Is that intentional? [19:23:32] dbrant: yes, it was. i verified it wasn't needed for centering [19:23:48] matanya: thanks for asking! i recently switched teams so i think one of the other android or ios devs would be better suited this. i'm currently trying to ramp up and stay focused on my new projects now :/ [19:24:24] niedzielski: interesting what is your new role ? [19:24:41] and mdholloway / dbrant feel invited the same please :) [19:25:02] matanya: i just switched to the web team :] [19:26:35] niedzielski: cool, i can bug your about page previews :) [19:26:49] *you [19:27:12] matanya: eventually :] [21:55:46] mhurd: dbrant joakino did you watch GOT last night [21:56:04] i did not! [21:56:08] maxbinder: ya but i may re-watch [21:56:13] * dbrant plugs ears [21:56:25] and dbrant was never heard from again [21:56:28] lol
