[16:02:35] <leila>	 so, we usually camp but this last time we had guests with us so we stayed in one of the heated tents in Curry Village, guillom. Are you planning to stay in one of the lodges? (I have no experience with the lodges there.)

[16:03:25] <leila>	 guillom: it's better if you reserve now and change it later (7 days before the start of your stay for full refund)

[16:04:02] <guillom>	 The only accommodation I could find there was unheated tents, so I was looking at more remote lodging; I need to figure out how much time it takes to drive around the park.

[16:04:38] <leila>	 the park has shuttles until later in the season, I think. You can go everywhere with the shuttles.

[16:05:52] <guillom>	 For example there are rooms around Mammoth, which could be nice for exploring the east part, but I'm guessing we need to find a place on the west side as well to explore the valley

[16:07:32] <guillom>	 I'm taking ~2 weeks, so we can go any time during that :) Probably the first 2 weeks of October.

[16:13:00] <leila>	 (there reservation system is a bit strange, I somehow can't manage to say that I want only heated and look at those options, guillom)
[16:14:32] <leila>	 my general recommendation is to stay in Curry Village if you can, guillom, and then use the park shuttle to go wherever you want to go, or drive yourself. Curry Village is nice, it has food options, and it's close to the start of many trails.
