[00:40:52] ragesoss: example? [00:41:13] haven’t heard of it [00:41:36] -> dario@wikimedia.org if you don’t mind, I’m curious to hear more [00:44:51] DarTar: sent you the new version, and an example of the old version. [00:45:53] sweet, thanks [00:47:22] ragesoss: oh weird, and interesting [00:47:44] I unsubscribed from all email notifications from Twitter so I never see this [00:48:09] yeah. the fixme bot tweets are the same: text, with an image, and a (edit) link to the article. [00:48:35] until now, they were just normal tweets, and the 'what happened' emails would show the tweet. [00:48:56] and now there’s a card overriding the image you embedded, right? [00:49:01] In this new version, it doesn't link to or show the tweet at all, and just picks up the fact of a Wikipedia link to show and link you directly to that article. [00:49:29] that’s fascinating and slightly problematic [00:49:45] it's still the same on twitter itself. it's just the email. [00:49:50] right [00:50:07] it's not purporting to show the tweet, it's just a different form of 'here's what going on at your twitter world' [00:50:09] do you have a sense of what happens if some text is included? [00:50:18] hmm [00:50:22] some text is always included. [00:50:26] https://twitter.com/FixmeBot [00:50:47] so a selection of popular links shared /as separate/ from a notification of notable tweets you may have missed? [00:51:14] yeah, I assume so. except I'm seeing them in that email *instead* of tweets, clearly. [00:51:25] like, 1 for 1 where they would have shown a tweet before. [00:51:39] right. That’s concerning [00:52:00] gotta run, hit me up by email if you need anything else that you can't get otherwise. [00:52:25] ragesoss: will do [00:52:37] I’ll loop in comms, for lack of a better team handling this [01:07:06] ragesoss: copied you in an email [03:22:07] PLEASE CALL L0DE RIGHT NOW!!!
