[15:52:09] I'll be 7 mins late for our meeting. [16:05:36] ok. [16:05:39] :thumbs up: [19:08:29] fkaelin: oh! I missed that you are now in IRC. welcome! [19:12:52] For those who may read this channel at some point: fkaelin has joined the Research team at the Wikimedia Foundation as a Senior Research Engineer. More on what fkaelin will work on in the coming months. Until then: the first couple of months will be focused on learning more about the technology stack, the organization and the community around Wikimedia projects. in parallel, fkaelin [19:12:54] will work with the research scientists on the team to understand their workflows, the type of outputs they have, etc. I'm really excited to have fkaelin as part of our team. Please welcome him if you run into him here or in other places. :) [19:24:19] fkaelin: do you want to put something on our calendars for us to connect today/tomorrow? [20:09:53] thank you for the welcome leila! [20:10:56] leila: scheduled for tomorrow [20:34:06] fkaelin: thanks! [20:48:13] For the Research team's review: there is an ongoing discussion on wikimedia-l to slow down official feedback collection or meetings that can feel cumpulsory by the community/affiliates between Dec. 14 and Jan 5. https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikimedia-l/2020-November/095885.html . Let's keep this in mind and engage with the community for such efforts outside of that time-frame. [20:48:15] This won't have impact on the Research Showcase announcement for December, but let's try to push all other communications with wikimedia-l outside of that time-frame. [20:48:52] I don't expect this to be a major issue for our team as generally we don't want to start major engagement with the communities at a time that we're trying to wrap things up ourselves or will not be available to answer questions/concerns.
