[10:54:51] Hey team, I'd like to check with you if you'd be open to move the SRE Infrastructure Foundations meeting from Wednesdays to Mondays lets say 4pm to 5 pm CEST so that it's aligned with SRE Staff Meeting? [11:01:21] jobo: No objection here. [11:04:50] jobo: currently at the same time there is every two weeks the meeting of the ONFIRE working group that few people in the team are attending usually. But I think we could see if that one could be moved, has moved multiple times in the past. [11:06:37] Maybe 3pm to 4pm CEST would work better? [11:08:20] +1 on moving to Monday to some slot before the SRE meeting [11:11:47] +1 for me too to align things, I don't mind the time. I was just mentioning the overlap :) [11:19:20] monday is good with me, 15:00 works better due to the onfire overlap [13:21:39] that time should work for me :) [13:36:17] Very well, meeting moved:) [13:42:27] jobo: thanks! FYI many other meetings (including the SRE one on Monday) are defined in PST (or other US TZs), and as such they move a bit in those 3/4 weeks a year where the US and EU are not aligned in term of daylight saving. [13:43:07] this might (or might not) cause overlaps in those few week with other meetings. I'm not suggesting forcely to change it, just be aware of it :-) [13:44:57] yes the PST thing is a bit of a pain, i wold prefer everything to be UTC based but i think that ship has sailed [13:45:47] more sinked than sailed :D [13:45:55] I would prefer it too [13:46:36] I would also have preferred EU would stay on daylight saving permanently, but apparently we're still far from it [13:46:54] I was always in favour of that too. [13:47:55] Ireland is now in a tricky place though, unlikey the UK would give it up cos the EU did, and a "time border" on the island of Ireland is the last thing we need. [13:48:03] #brexit fun :) [13:48:28] If I'm seeing correctly in the calendar it's set to (GMT-07:00) Pacific Time - Los Angeles so we should be good with this one. Thanks for pointing it out though, I'll make sure it's the case for all future events. [13:49:52] ah sorry the email tricked me, the calendar show it correctly, my bad [20:54:31] j https://engineering.fb.com/2021/05/13/data-center-engineering/bgp/ [20:55:07] hit enter too soon, wanted to say that Arzhel and Cathal might find it interesting :)
