[06:28:05] andrewbogott, mutante: which couple of bugs? [09:21:56] mutante, andrewbogott I added https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Ganeti#Create_the_VM_(using_the_cookbook_sre.ganeti.makevm) today, it should explain the pros/cons of using the cookbook. It should be ready to use, and more tests are good :) [09:26:45] i need some reviewers on this change, systemd.timers on jessie does not support randomizedsecsdelay [09:26:59] https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/operations/puppet/+/520018 [09:27:19] is a pretty straightforward change [09:28:57] looking [09:31:17] there future is here [09:31:25] I have only IPv6 right now on my pc, not IPv4 [09:31:28] and it's not my doing [09:31:33] what on earth is going on? [09:31:52] provider? [09:31:57] ote [09:32:10] ty moritzm [09:32:23] by my nameservers are IPv4 only [09:32:27] but* [09:32:30] nice.... [09:32:51] at least we know I connect to IRC over IPv6 [09:34:10] anyway, https://media.giphy.com/media/DUtVdGeIU8lmo/giphy.gif worked [09:34:13] but I wonder... [09:37:57] very weird [09:42:34] DHCP glitch? [09:44:14] nice, I wonder what they do for v4 only names. IIRC at fosdem it is NAT64/DNS64 and it seemed to work fine [10:52:51] <_joe_> question regarding mtail: I see all programs are contained in the module [10:53:05] <_joe_> but the one I want to create is specific to the log format we use for mediawiki [10:53:09] <_joe_> and to mediawiki specifically [10:53:17] <_joe_> so having it in that module seems... wrong [10:54:59] are you talking about modules/files/programs/ ? [10:55:17] <_joe_> modules/mtail/files/programs [11:01:12] yeah, that one [11:02:48] we have used both styles really [11:03:16] eg there is haproxy.cfg under thumbor [11:03:32] but haproxy mtail is under mtail module [11:04:37] given how weird mtail syntax is, I would leave it as is [11:05:00] the next person to use that, will have everything in one place to experiment or copy-pasta [11:05:07] but that is mho [13:14:52] _joe_: it's also only recently that mtail let you use templates in reasonable ways [13:15:24] <_joe_> cdanis: uhm like what? maybe you know how to untie me from the horror I'm writing :D [13:15:36] <_joe_> the documentation available is... well [13:15:40] yeah [13:15:55] there is some, it could be much better; you often have to look at patch notes or at github issues as well [13:16:07] <_joe_> yeah before I get to that :D [13:17:32] any chance you can make a patch or otherwise paste somewhere what you have so far? [13:20:01] <_joe_> yeah I am about to just paste it [13:24:06] _joe_: if you get a sec can i get a review of https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/operations/puppet/+/511686 (hiera) i have audited the private repo and all keys should be in place and thus PCC should be acurate [13:25:23] <_joe_> jbond42: sure [13:26:48] cheers [14:07:11] hello, IRCcloud is down because of cloudflare [14:21:07] I'm back! [16:16:28] https://blog.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-outage/ For about 30 minutes today, visitors to Cloudflare sites received 502 errors caused by a massive spike in CPU utilization on our network. This CPU spike was caused by a bad software deploy that was rolled back. Once rolled back the service returned to normal operation and all domains using Cloudflare returned to normal traffic levels. [16:18:28] the separate Google outage now resolved, too: https://status.cloud.google.com/incident/cloud-networking/19015 apparently they lost multiple fiber links and didn't appropriately shift traffic [16:21:40] thx! [17:54:45] elukey: cool! [18:00:52] cdanis: I believe this is due to your recent patch: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T227105 [18:01:08] I'm not sure if we want an OS check there, or if there's some better solution [18:01:10] blarg [18:01:16] sorry [18:01:34] I could even just remove it, it was needed to do some one-off debugging [18:01:42] if that's easy it works for me :) [18:04:55] andrewbogott: puppet-merged [18:05:26] thanks! [18:06:22] seems better :) [18:46:17] if someone has a sec, could use a quick +1 https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/labs/private/+/520297 [18:47:51] thanks :) [18:47:52] chaomodus: done. per "it's just labs/private"
