Apparently there is smoke at embarcadero AND a medical emergency on the train. I'm walk home for morning meetings and try to come in later. [20:25:41] Attempting to come into the office again [21:16:53] I'm working on writing up tips on searching in Maniphest. I would like to add screen shots. Is it ok to post screen shots in media wiki? [21:19:47] what are your concerns? [21:28:10] I'm told that any communications we have which include images should be restricted to the wikimedia commons. I also noted that the phabricator tips pages is conspicuously missing images. [21:28:43] is this related and does anyone have opinions about posting screen shots to wikimedia pages? [21:29:53] I have a tangential question [21:30:02] MediaWiki templates: https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AAllPages&from=w&to=&namespace=10 [21:30:51] there are a bazillion. How might one go about seeing if a desired one exists? I'd hate to compound the problem of not being able to find my template, by creating another redundant template... [21:31:46] Unfortunately, it's easier to create a new one than find an existing one (if you don't know what it's called) [21:52:52] dstrine: the tips page has no images because i slapped it together rather quickly, and didn't spot any glaring need for them [21:53:21] however, you will notice that the phab creating projects page does have images (at least, I assume those pretty colored project types are an image) [21:53:46] I didn't mean to knock the page or your work [21:53:50] I think the answer is to upload your images to commons, and link to them from the page (he says, not quite really knowing what he is saying) [21:53:56] no worries...didn't take offense at al [21:54:05] just didn't want you to think it was intentional on my part [21:54:07] kk I'm just trying to be sensitive to rules I might not know :) [21:56:52] mbinder: My approach was to use search. First type "team" (without quotes) into the search box. then click Advanced search and uncheck main and help, and check templates. Then remember to insert "intitle:" in the search, so it is "intitle:team". That listed just a few templates, of which one looked plausibly relevant, at which point mediawiki went down. Hey, it's back now, and the template might in fact be relevant, although probab [21:57:05] ok new question: I can't figure out how to make a subpage from visual editor. [21:58:40] to make a subpage, just add /whatever to the url of the main page, and go there. it will prompt you to create it [22:00:03] kk I'm used to that. I was hoping there were options inside the visual editor tools. [22:01:14] i haven't tried it, but I would think just reference the new subpage as a link. side note: sub-pages are not used on wikipedias, so don't have the greatest software support [22:07:30] mbinder: oops. that link was to your page. the other potentially interesting one turned out not to be interesting [22:10:53] 6Team-Practices: Resolve current TPG email threads - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T102057#1394553 (10JAufrecht) [23:53:01] 6Team-Practices, 3ECT-June-2015: Arrange TPG Team Offsite Logistics: June 25 and 26 - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T100465#1394824 (10JAufrecht) Is this done?
