[16:24:10] meeple27: im a big fan of the droid fonts, i particularly like droid sans mono for my terminal [16:25:11] awjr: I tried to put droid on my home computer last night, and it has been deprecated so is no longer available from ubuntu! ARGH! [16:25:24] meeple27: you can still do it, just not through apt [16:26:01] The newer Roboto font is no help, but it turns out noto, the official replacement, has the same serif'd I so works fine. Noto is now my default/only font everywhere on both work and home machines. I am soothed. [16:26:08] you just gotta download the ttf files and copy them somewhere special [16:26:13] meeple27: :D [16:26:27] meeple27: personally i prefer droid over noto, but i am glad you are soothed [16:26:55] yeah, I'm all about going through either apt or ruby gems for pretty much everything. [16:27:18] meeple27: i think you can put fonts either in .fonts in your home dir or stick them in /usr/share/fonts [16:27:28] i can dig that [16:27:56] right, i think I did that at my last job when we were working with obscure fonts like khmer and nepalese (and fonts generally weren't as i18n'd as they are now) [18:22:14] meeple27: you forze :-) [18:22:24] you dropped out [18:25:35] is noto the same letterforms and droid? [21:01:11] gonna be a min late to tea [21:13:40] er by a min i mean 13 [21:52:28] * meeple27 wishes there were a conway twitty law to go along with conway's law
